Job Summary

The Human Resources Culture & Onboarding Specialist serves as the Ecosystem’s lead facilitator for new hire onboarding and employee learning during an employee's first week of employment. This position is responsible for delivering all Human Resources, Culture, and business system & application onboarding training while creating an engaging, consistent, and best-in-class employee experience.


As the primary face of the Ecosystem’s onboarding program, this role facilitates instructor-led training, introduces employees to the company's Culture, Core Convictions, Guiding Principles, systems, and resources, and ensures every new hire begins their career with the knowledge, confidence, and connections needed to succeed.


This position owns the onboarding curriculum and learning experience by developing training materials, maintaining onboarding content, facilitating interactive learning sessions, measuring employee engagement, and recommending continuous improvements to the onboarding program.


The Human Resources Culture & Onboarding Specialist receives limited direction on day-to-day work and general instruction on new projects, tasks or assignments.  Will execute and assist team leadership on projects, tasks or assignments of complex scope.  Will work independently or under limited supervision.


This person will communicate and operate in line with organizational goals, Core Convictions, Guiding Principles, and departmental objectives. They will prepare employees to succeed through education, engagement, and organizational integration.


Essential Functions

Learning Facilitation & New Hire Experience (50%)

  • Serve as Ecosystem lead facilitator for all Human Resources, Culture, and business system & application onboarding training.
  • Facilitate 8 recurring instructor-led onboarding training sessions each week, delivering consistent, engaging, and high-quality learning experience.
  • Deliver onboarding curriculum covering Human Resources programs, company Culture, organizational structure, employee resources, technology platforms, business applications, time reporting, expense management, Employee Hub, and other required onboarding topics.
  • Create an engaging and memorable first-week experience that fosters employee connection, belonging, and confidence while reinforcing DLB's Culture and values.
  • Create an engaging virtual classroom environment that encourages participation, discussion, collaboration, and knowledge retention.
  • Serve as Ecosystem Culture ambassador by introducing new employees to the organization's mission, Core Convictions, Guiding Principles, and employee experience.
  • Respond to employee questions during training and connect new hires with the appropriate Human Resources or business resources when specialized support is needed.
  • Adapt facilitation techniques to meet the needs of diverse audiences while maintaining consistency across onboarding cohorts.

Curriculum Development & Learning Content Management (20%)

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve onboarding curriculum, facilitator guides, presentations, participant materials, job aids, videos, and learning resources.
  • Partner with Human Resources subject matter experts to ensure onboarding content remains accurate, current, and aligned with organizational changes.
  • Partner with Directors and business leaders to identify learning and skill gaps within the organization, and design targeted training solutions to address them.
  • Develop and deliver specialized training modules tailored to unique departmental, business unit, or company needs beyond standard onboarding curriculum.
  • Design engaging learning experiences that improve employee understanding, participation, and retention.
  • Maintain onboarding content within the Employee Hub and support future Learning Management System (LMS) initiatives.
  • Research emerging learning technologies, facilitation techniques, and AI-enabled solutions to enhance employee learning.

Employee Experience & Continuous Improvement (20%)

  • Conduct first-week employee check-ins to reinforce learning, answer questions, and identify onboarding challenges.
  • Collect, analyze, and summarize onboarding surveys and employee feedback.
  • Identify trends and recommend improvements that enhance employee engagement, productivity, and retention.
  • Partner with the Onboarding Manager to evaluate onboarding effectiveness and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Recommend innovative approaches to improve the overall new hire experience and support Ecosystem continued growth.

Program Partnership & Strategic Support (10%)

  • Partner with the Onboarding Manager and Onboarding Specialists to ensure a seamless transition from preboarding through successful completion of Week One onboarding.
  • Communicate employee concerns, trends, and onboarding opportunities identified during training.
  • Support enterprise onboarding initiatives, special projects, and organizational learning programs as assigned.
  • Serve as a trusted learning resource for Human Resources and business leaders.
  • Technology, Digital Tools & AI-Enabled Efficiency
  • Leverage AI-enabled and digital tools to enhance efficiency, reduce manual effort, and support consistent, high-quality work output.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and demonstrate a continuous learning mindset, seeking out new technologies, skills, and methods that elevate individual and team performance.
  • Adapt to emerging technologies and evolving digital workflows, actively supporting the integration and adoption of innovative tools across the organization.

Completion of Assigned Tasks and Deliverables on Time and on Budget

  • Performs Other Related Duties as Assigned


Position Requirements

(Advanced level for all the following)

  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, onboarding best practices, employee engagement strategies, and new hire experience design.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating instructor-led training, virtual learning sessions, and engaging presentations for diverse audiences.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum development, instructional design principles, and adult learning methodologies.
  • Skilled in delivering engaging presentations while adapting communication styles to meet the needs of varying audiences and learning preferences.
  • Skilled in developing training materials, facilitator guides, job aids, reference materials, and employee resources.
  • Skilled in evaluating training effectiveness through participant feedback, engagement metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to facilitate multiple live training sessions each week while maintaining a high-energy, engaging, and professional learning environment.

(Intermediate level for all the following)

  • Knowledge of HR programs, employee lifecycle processes, company policies, benefits, payroll, HR technology, and organizational resources.
  • Knowledge of employment laws, compliance requirements, and HR best practices related to onboarding.
  • Skilled in building collaborative relationships with HR, IT, Payroll, Benefits, and business leaders.
  • Skilled at using MS Office Suite and virtual learning technologies.
  • Ability to leverage AI and emerging technologies to enhance learning experiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional service and organization.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, managers, executives, and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze participant feedback and identify learning gaps.

Travel / Relocation Requirements

  • Up to 10%, this may include travel to any or all 50 US states
  • Travel is defined as physically leaving home on behalf of business activities including but not limited to client sites, meetings with other employees, meeting for business development purposes, running errands on behalf of the business, attending industry conferences, etc.


Education / Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, education or related field

OR

  • A recognized HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP)

OR

  • Two years of human resource experience

PLUS

  • Minimum of five years of human resource experience
