About the role

RAW Nutrition is looking for an Inventory Manager to oversee inventory accuracy, control, costing, planning, and reporting across the organization. This role will ensure inventory records accurately reflect physical inventory, investigate and resolve discrepancies, analyze inventory and costing variances, manage cycle count programs, and partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Finance, and Accounting teams to maintain strong inventory controls. This role is remote, open to United States residents with preference towards those in the Central and Eastern timezones.

What you'll do

  • Own inventory accuracy across warehouses, 3PLs, and internal inventory locations.
  • Monitor inventory balances and investigate discrepancies between ERP records, warehouse systems, and physical inventory.
  • Develop, manage, and execute cycle count and physical inventory programs.
  • Research inventory variances and identify the root cause of discrepancies.
  • Coordinate inventory adjustments and ensure appropriate documentation and approval.
  • Reconcile inventory movements including receipts, transfers, fulfillments, returns, assemblies, adjustments, and write-offs.
  • Partner with warehouse and 3PL teams to resolve receiving, shipping, and inventory discrepancies.
  • Monitor aged, damaged, expired, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory.
  • Assist in developing disposition plans for obsolete or non-sellable inventory.
  • Review negative inventory, inventory shortages, duplicate transactions, and unusual inventory activity.
  • Maintain accurate SKU, item, location, and inventory-related master data.
  • Ensure inventory transactions are processed accurately and timely within the ERP system.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of inventory management, inventory control, or inventory accounting experience, ideally in CPG, food & beverage, or another physical-goods environment
  • Experience working with 3PLs and/or co-packers/co-manufacturers, including managing the inevitable data and communication gaps
  • Comfort with lot tracking, expiration dates, and FIFO/FEFO practices
  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills; experience with an ERP system (NetSuite, QuickBooks, Fishbowl, Cin7, SAP, or similar)
  • A demonstrated ability to build or improve a process, not just follow one — startups need people who create the playbook
  • Sharp analytical skills and comfort digging into root causes rather than just patching symptoms
  • Strong cross-functional communication — you'll be translating inventory issues for warehouse staff, finance leaders, and executives alike
  • High attention to detail paired with the ability to prioritize when everything feels urgent

Nice-To-Haves

  • Experience with a company going through rapid SKU or channel expansion (e.g., adding retail after DTC, or vice versa)
  • Familiarity with retailer EDI/chargebacks as they relate to inventory and fulfillment discrepancies
  • Experience supporting an audit or funding due diligence process
  • Exposure to demand planning or S&OP processes

Our Leadership Principles

  • Speed without sacrificing quality.
  • Data beats opinions.
  • Ownership beats excuses.
  • Testing beats assumptions.
  • Accountability is non-negotiable.
  • Every problem has an owner.
  • We are builders, not caretakers.
  • We hire adults who don't need to be managed.
