We are looking for an experienced Restoration Technician who can confidently perform restoration, mitigation, cleaning, demolition, and equipment-related work with minimal supervision.

About the role

  • The Restoration Technician is responsible for performing hands-on restoration and mitigation services following water, fire, smoke, storm, freeze, mold, and other property damage.
  • The ideal candidate has previous restoration, mitigation, construction, demolition, cleaning, or related experience and understands the importance of safety, documentation, customer service, and quality workmanship.

What you'll do

  • Monday–Friday, primarily during business hours
  • Typical start time: 7:30 AM
  • End times vary based on job requirements
  • Overtime, nights, and weekends may be required
  • On-call rotation approximately every 2–3 weeks
  • Flexibility is required for emergency response situations

Responsibilities

Restoration & Mitigation

  • Perform water extraction, structural drying, smoke and fire cleaning, odor control, and general restoration services.
  • Set up, monitor, and maintain air movers, dehumidifiers, extractors, air scrubbers, and other restoration equipment.
  • Assist with mold remediation/abatement and sewage or black-water cleanup.
  • Perform specialty cleaning and hoarding cleanup when required.
  • Follow established safety procedures and properly use PPE and cleaning products.

Demolition & Contents

  • Perform selective demolition and removal of damaged drywall, flooring, cabinets, vanities, sinks, appliances, water heaters, and other materials.
  • Perform debris removal and prepare affected areas for reconstruction.
  • Pack, move, clean, and organize contents as needed.
  • Protect unaffected areas and customer belongings during restoration work.

Jobsite, Equipment & Documentation

  • Load, transport, set up, and maintain restoration equipment and materials.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized jobsites.
  • Accurately document work using company apps, photographs, moisture readings, equipment logs, and other required documentation.
  • Communicate jobsite conditions and progress to supervisors.
  • Maintain company vehicles, tools, equipment, and supplies.

Customer Service

  • Communicate professionally with homeowners, supervisors, and coworkers.
  • Treat customers, their homes, and belongings with care and respect.
  • Represent ServiceMaster of Seattle professionally at all times.

Qualifications

  • Previous restoration, mitigation, construction, demolition, or related experience required.
  • IICRC certification or industry training is a plus.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License with a good driving record.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check, MVR check, and drug screen.
  • Basic computer, smartphone, and app skills.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment and materials weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to work in crawl spaces, attics, basements, and other challenging environments.
  • Ability to work around water, sewage, mold, smoke, odors, chemicals, dust, and construction debris.

Compensation

$24.00–$27.00 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and skill level.
