The Opportunity

  • Strategic Impact at the helm of HR reporting directly to the President and CEO. Serving as a vital member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Director of Human Resources will be the principal architect of Stoneside’s human resources strategy.
  • Hands-On Leadership in a growth environment. This is a highly impactful, hands-on leadership role where the Director will personally design, implement, and refine the HR systems, processes, and training that will support the company's scaling, primarily for the remote workforce of 90+ teammates.
  • Championing Culture and Values. The Director of Human Resources will be a key champion of Stoneside's unique culture and core values, ensuring that the company remains an exceptional place to work and that its 'five-star experience' promise begins with its own teammates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive HR strategies, continue to improve our systems (e.g., a Human Resources Information System, Applicant Tracking System, performance management), and processes that align with our business objectives and support our growth.
  • Lead the selection and rollout of HR technology to streamline operations and enhance our teammates' experience.
  • Oversee and enhance all aspects of the talent lifecycle, including talent acquisition, robust onboarding for remote employees, employee relations, performance management, learning and development initiatives, and offboarding.
  • Actively foster and embed Stoneside’s core values and a positive, engaging remote work culture that drives the 'five-star teammate experience'.
  • Build programs that enhance teammate engagement, morale, and retention.
  • Manage compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and equity.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations across the company's 13+ markets.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and coach to the Senior Leadership Team and managers on all HR-related matters.
  • Partner with leadership on organizational design, change management, and workforce planning to support growth.

Candidate Profile
Must Haves

  • Reside in the Colorado Front Range and be available for regular, monthly in-person meetings with the Senior Leadership Team.
  • 5 or more years of Human Resources experience with a significant track record of building, scaling, and single-handedly managing core HR functions
  • Demonstrated success in designing and implementing HR systems, automated processes, and training programs from the ground up
  • Highly organized and process-driven
  • Expertise in managing Human Resources for a primarily remote or distributed workforce, indicating an understanding of associated unique challenges and opportunities
  • Experience and knowledge of U.S. employment law, compliance, and HR best practices across multiple states
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust and strong relationships at all levels
  • A genuine alignment with Stoneside’s core values (Honesty, Positivity, Generosity, Continuous Improvement, Passion) and a passion for fostering an outstanding workplace culture
  • An energetic, enthusiastic, proactive, self-starting leader who is comfortable with ambiguity and thrives in a hands-on, dynamic environment, reflecting the company's growth phase
  • Relevant HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR)
  • Experience using modern ATS and HRIS systems

Nice to Haves 

  • Experience using Rippling HRIS a big plus
  • Experience working with a growing company of a similar size.

Compensation 

  • Salary between $100,000 and $140,000 based on qualifications and experience
  • Bonus potential of $30,000 or more from Senior Leadership Team’s incentive compensation program,
  • Opportunity for equity participation
