Role Summary

The Payroll Clerk is responsible for accurate and timely payroll processing, maintenance of employee payroll data, and support of payroll‑related compliance and audits. This role also serves as a primary contact for payroll‑related employee inquiries.


Key Responsibilities

  • Process employee multi-state payroll accurately on a regular schedule (biweekly, monthly, quarterly)
  • Maintain employee payroll records and employee data
  • Manage state tax rate updates and coordinate with state agencies as needed/ Ensure accurate tax withholdings
  • Handle employee A/R items related to personal charges on corporate cards, including obtaining written authorization for payroll deductions
  • Review and manage employee reimbursements through Rippling
  • Respond to payroll‑related employee inquiries
  • Assist with documentation and support for annual workers’ compensation, financial, and Form 5500 audits
  • Provide adhoc administrative support as needed to address payroll-related reconciliations and requirements


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in accounting, HR, or business preferred
  • Proven experience in payroll or accounting roles
  • Familiarity with payroll software (e.g., ADP, QuickBooks)
  • Strong numerical and data entry skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of tax regulations and labor laws
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly

Compensation

Starting at $26/hour plus 5% annual bonus
