Publisher Standards Specialist

About Walker Advertising

Since 1984, Walker Advertising has bridged the gap between a law firm's need to grow and an underserved community's need for trustworthy legal services. Our teams lead with empathy and without ego to serve others through integrity and trust. We dare to think differently and work to consistently raise the bar, creating a workplace environment based on respect.

We believe that our employees are not just numbers; they are people. People with families and lives outside of work. We understand that a career is just one piece of the puzzle that makes people successful, happy individuals. That's why as we grow our teams, we focus on the whole person.

Position Summary

The Publisher Standards Specialist owns the day-to-day standards and compliance review function for our Publisher business unit. Working from established SOPs, you'll run the review queue, deliver the weekly standards reporting that leadership and Account Managers rely on for partner strategy, and serve as the first point of contact when Publisher teams have standards questions.

This is a hands-on, judgment-heavy role for someone who's comfortable holding a consistent turnaround standard, making and documenting defensible calls, and communicating clearly with partners and internal teams. You'll partner closely with the Compliance Manager, who owns overall standards policy and enterprise risk decisions, and you'll have support from an intern on tactical review and audit work. This role has no direct reports.

Key Responsibilities

Review & Clearance

  • Own the daily review queue for the Publisher ecosystem — TCPA / trusted forms, creative review, whitelist domain review, and partner ID verification — reporting on whether partner content and activity meet standards.
  • Hold a 48-hour turnaround on partner reviews and Account Manager support requests, so partner-facing teams can plan launches with confidence.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for Publisher standards questions, escalating partner pushback and recurring risks to the Compliance Manager as needed.
  • Lead new-business due diligence and the onboarding standards checklist before a partner goes live.
  • Manage blacklist alliance updates and anti-transfer corrections, and oversee partner offboarding with support from the intern.
  • Maintain a decision log documenting what was cleared, what was rejected, and the standard behind each ruling.

Publisher Standards Oversight

  • Partner with the Compliance Manager on systems and process implementation, change reporting, version control, and department documentation and templates.
  • Help keep review criteria, checklists, and SOPs current with company policy.
  • Communicate standards guidance to Account Managers and Publisher partners, and help manage external partner communications on standards matters.
  • Support Sales and legal with client FAQs and partner complaint responses.
  • Own corrective action tracking, working with Account Managers and directly with partners to close items and build understanding of company standards.
  • Analyze review data to identify recurring violation patterns and recommend improvements to leadership.
  • Apply standards in a way that supports business goals, flagging conflicts to the Compliance Manager.

Monitoring & Enablement

  • Lead quarterly audits of the live partner catalog and domain directory, with support from the Operations Associate.
  • Run routine compliance monitoring across creative, disclaimers, and TCPA, using AI-assisted tools where available.
  • Own ongoing anti-transfer and whitelist co-registration monitoring, and produce related compliance reporting for the Publisher ecosystem.
  • Deliver weekly Standards Performance & Strategy Reporting — turnaround time, approval and rejection rates, and repeat violations.
  • Deliver training and enablement to partner-facing and associate staff so routine questions get answered without a full review cycle.
  • Support ad hoc audits, root-cause analysis, and the annual standards review.

Qualifications

  • Experience in an audit, advertising compliance, or similar review and clearance role.
  • Proven track record owning a review queue or approval process, including accountability for turnaround time and consistency of rulings.
  • Sound judgment under ambiguity — comfortable making and defending a call when the standard doesn't cleanly cover the facts.
  • Clear written communication; able to explain a rejection or required change so the requesting team can act on it.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working from review metrics and dashboards.
  • Working knowledge of TCPA and legal advertising guidelines preferred.
  • Background in affiliate, publisher, or lead generation networks preferred.
  • Experience building training or enablement programs for partner-facing teams preferred.

Benefits/Perks

  • 3 Weeks Paid Time Off
  • 12 Weeks of Paid Parental Leave
  • Comprehensive Insurance Coverage (Medical, Dental, Vision, etc.)
  • 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan
  • Wellness Initiatives/Employee Assistance Program
  • Rewards and Recognition Programs
  • Career Development Opportunities

Compensation
$62,000 - $82,000 base + 5% annual bonus
