The Finance & Development Intern will provide critical support during the Ramadan season by assisting with donation processing, cash handling, and financial reconciliation. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, trustworthy, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with high volumes of donations. The intern will work closely with the Finance and Development teams to ensure accurate, timely, and secure recording of contributions.

Donation & Cash Handling

• Assist with receiving, counting, and organizing cash, check, and online donations.
• Ensure proper documentation and secure handling of all financial contributions.
• Prepare daily donation logs and verify completeness and accuracy.
• Support the safe transfer and deposit of funds when needed.

Reconciliation & Reporting

• Reconcile physical donations with digital records and donor management systems.
• Flag discrepancies and assist staff in timely resolution.
• Organize receipts, donor envelopes, and transaction records for audit purposes.
• Help generate summary reports for daily, weekly, and post-Ramadan review.

Development Support

• Assist with donor thank-you processes, acknowledgments, and follow-ups.
• Help maintain donor data accuracy and update records.
• Support fundraising events or Ramadan programs as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial tasks.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
• Comfortable handling cash and working with numbers.
• Basic proficiency in Excel/Sheets; experience with donor databases is a plus.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work evenings/weekends during key Ramadan nights (as needed).
• Previous finance, accounting, or nonprofit experience is helpful but not required.
