The Associate Technical Lead (ATL) is responsible for leading a small team of software engineers to design, develop, and deliver high-quality software solutions. This role bridges technical expertise and leadership — ensuring engineering best practices, architectural integrity, code quality, and timely delivery. The ATL collaborates closely with architects, product owners, and other cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable software systems.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Technical Leadership

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of software components and services.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and code reviews for the engineering team.
  • Verify that design principles, coding standards, and architecture guidelines are being followed.
  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate tools, frameworks, and technologies.
  • Participate in system design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions.


2. Software Development

  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following software engineering best practices.
  • Ensure high code quality through unit testing, integration testing, and automation.
  • Collaborate with DevOps engineers to streamline CI/CD processes and improve release pipelines.
  • Optimize application performance, scalability, and security.


3. Project & Delivery Management

  • Work with Product Owners and Project Managers to define scope, effort estimation, and timelines.
  • Plan, assign, and track tasks across the engineering team.
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks and drive resolutions proactively.
  • Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of project milestones.


4. Collaboration & Communication

  • Act as the technical point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with QA, UX/UI, DevOps, and Data teams to ensure smooth integration and delivery.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into understandable terms for non-technical audiences.
  • Contribute to documentation, design specifications, and release notes.


5. Continuous Improvement

  • Conduct technical workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies, frameworks, and industry best practices.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance software delivery efficiency and quality.


Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is required.


Experience:

8+ years of hands-on software development experience.


Technical Skills

Proficiency in Python and RUST (Good to have Java / Node.js / PHP / Go).

Experience with microservices architecture, REST APIs, and cloud platforms (AWS or GCP).

Strong knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases, message queues, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and automated testing frameworks.

Understanding of security practices, scalability, and performance optimization.

High-performance data pipeline development.

Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
