Job Role: Education Monitoring Team Leader- 24/7

Department Product (Early Detection & Intervention)

Reports to: Head of Moderation

Location: Leeds, UK- Hybrid 

Shift Patterns: Monday-Sunday 24/7 Shift Rotation 


Due to GDPR restrictions applicants must be UK based.

The start date for this role will be 13th April 2026

Please note that the first 4 weeks of training will take place Monday- Friday 9am-5.30pm

What’s the position?

We are looking for a Education Monitoring Team Leader to provide support to our human moderation team.  You’ll work within our product team to review the online activity of students, identify safeguarding risks and contact Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) within schools as necessary.  The work requires a keen eye for detail, an understanding of modern online culture amongst young people and an ability to work at pace whilst making accurate decisions.  You are expected to work shifts as part of a 24/7 team, working from home and in the office. 


Core Responsibilities

  • Managing a team of Education Monitoring Analysts working 24/7 365 days a year. 
  • Reviewing content flagged as requiring human moderation to assess category and risk levels
  • Managing the workflow of alerts from systems to moderators and optimise the flow using AI tools and techniques 
  • Quality, Performance, Risk and Resource management of analysts
  • Providing on-call support where needed. 
  • An escalation point as an expert moderator for the moderation team
  • Providing well-being support to the Education Monitoring Analysts.  
  • Conducting 121’s, annual reviews and regular coaching with the analysts
  • Ownership of systems used to deliver moderation services- including AI analysis, content queuing and alerting systems
  • Managing rotas to ensure that there is suitable cover for each shift. 


Essential Skills 

  • Experience as a content moderator/analyst 
  • Team Management Experience 
  • Excellent customer, interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Strong team player with the ability to work on own initiatives with creative ability to solve problems 
  • Ability to self direct and manage own time to achieve goals


Desirable Skills 

  • Degree educated or equivalent 
  • Experience dealing with vulnerable situations

This role requires the applicant to deal with moderation of content and other circumstances which may be distressing or inappropriate.  Welfare services will be available to support the applicant.

This role also meets the requirements in respect of exempted questions under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, any applicants who are offered work for this organisation will be subject to an enhanced check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). This will include details of cautions, reprimands or final warnings as well as convictions. A criminal record will not automatically bar a person from successfully taking up this post.
