At Qu you’ll find a fun, dynamic, and diverse culture that celebrates team and individual success. Our people are down to earth, trail blazin’ folks who value innovation.
While mostly virtual, we collaborate closely to produce leading-edge software solutions much needed in the restaurant industry.
At Qu you will:
- Lead the end-to-end development of scalable APIs and backend services, overseeing design, testing, deployment, optimization, and monitoring.
- Work across our diverse tech stack (Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, AWS (ECS, RDS, Redshift, S3, SQS, SNS, Lambda, Kinesis, Timestream, IoT Core) to build robust systems.
- Have an impact on product development by making critical technical decisions, shaping system architecture, and refining development practices.
- Identify and resolve performance, scalability, and security challenges by proactively proposing and implementing robust solutions.
- Collaborate with product, firmware, and data science teams to align technical execution with customer needs and company vision, while mentoring peers and leading code reviews.
What we're looking for:
- 5-8+ years hands-on experience in backend software development, preferably in a startup environment.
- Expertise in backend frameworks (FastAPI, Django, Flask) and Python.
- Proven track record designing, shipping, and monitoring scalable software, with hands-on experience in AWS (RDS, SNS, SQS, Lambda) and with containerized deployments (ECS), thriving in a build-it-and-run-it culture.
- Demonstrated proficiency working with high-scale, data-centric systems and real-time streaming technologies (AWS Kinesis, Kafka, or similar).
- Strong SQL skills and practical experience with ORM tools to manage complex database interactions.
- Experience with cloud automation and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
- Clear, effective communication skills, with proven experience working across multidisciplinary teams (including data scientists and ML/AI engineers) and mentoring others.
- Experience in fast-paced environments, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, take ownership of projects, and—most importantly—get things done.
