Qu is seeking an enthusiastic Database-Search Subject Matter Expert who’s ready to join a talented, hard-working and ambitious operations team to build and support the next generation restaurant commerce and management engine and cloud-interactive applications.

At Qu you will:

• Own all relevant operations and change control to various database and search systems employed at Qu
• Perform zero-downtime maintenance tasks to upkeep systems to ensure long-term stability and growth
• Architecture design for both supporting hardware configuration and our application software interface to the systems to ensure the highest possible performance
• Coordinate with data teams for offloading data and managing movement of tiered data
• Code review for all queries against and updates to the database and search systems
• Triage and recovery in case of faults or system upsets

What we're looking for:

• Intimate knowledge of underlying architecture and configuration for MongoDB and Elasticsearch
• Design experience with database vertical and horizontal scaling
• Collection, schema, index, and mapping expertise and impact analysis to underlying performance trade-off for use cases
• Hands-on and active management of production-deployed database and search clusters
• Configuration, documentation, and operation of all relevant monitoring tools for resource management
• Other relevant experience/expertise for competing and complementing data management engines
