About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Customer Officer, the Senior Account Director role involves managing one large strategic account while focusing on developing and implementing strategies for client retention, renewal, and expansion. The Senior Account Director will play a critical role in driving year-over-year growth, strengthening client relationships, and ensuring operational excellence across all projects.  

 

In this position, the Senior Account Director will manage one Account Director.  Together, they work with Project Managers and internal Delivery teams to ensure project excellence and exceptional client service, acting as the strategic liaison and escalation point of contact. The candidate should possess a proven track record in account management and business growth, thrive in fast-paced environments, and have a deep understanding of market research. With a growth mindset, they will be comfortable working autonomously while knowing when to escalate or collaborate with leadership. Above all, this individual should bring innate curiosity, strategic insight, and a proactive approach to fostering client and organizational growth. 
 

Core Responsibilities

  • Owns strategic relationship with client, builds trust, identifies needs and opportunities. 
  • Accountable for client growth, upsell, and retention. 
    • Develop strategies to exceed revenue goals, including expansion opportunities through relevant services and solutions. 
    • Act as a trusted advisor to client decision-makers, promoting long-term client retention. 
    • Lead client renewal efforts by demonstrating ongoing value. 
    • Create and drive the account growth strategy and planning. 
    • Coordinate with sales and marketing to identify new business opportunities and expand relationships. 
  • Frames solutions to client problems and designs projects to meet client needs.  
  • Oversees client deliverables at a high level to ensure alignment with client goals. 
  • Collaborates with internal teams for efficient project execution and issue resolution. 
  • Troubleshoots and manages client issues in partnership with project managers and senior leadership. 
  • Educates clients on platform capabilities, positioning the company as a strategic partner. 
  • Manages project budgets, contract terms, and pricing for profitability. 
  • Creates compelling presentations with data and case studies for account expansion. 
  • Mentor and develop team members within the account management team.

What We Would Like to See

  • 10+ years of experience in the Consumer Insights industry, focused on research design, client success, and account management/growth, including familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.  
  • Proven success in meeting or exceeding growth targets for account expansion and renewals.  
  • Experience working with large CPG companies, with a deep understanding of their business challenges and consumer insights needs.  
  • BA/BS (4-year required) with a strong academic record.  
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office. Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and online project management tools.  
  • Passion for consumer insights technology. 

Position Type

This position is full-time and 100% remote. We are a largely remote organization with offices in Chicago and Salt Lake City. We empower our employees to decide whether they’d like to work from our offices or remotely from a location of their choice, provided they are legally authorized to work from their chosen location.


Salary Range

Base range $120,000 – $150,000, with an annual sales performance incentive of up to 30% of base salary.
