We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced RF Systems Engineer to lead the development and integration of software-defined radio (SDR) technology into our next-generation systems. This individual will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and testing SDR solutions to meet our performance and operational requirements. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in SDR technologies, signal processing, and system integration, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Additionally, the candidate should have a strong understanding of off-the-shelf (OTS) SDR solutions and be able to guide system-level decision-making regarding the SDR subsystem.

Key Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and implementation of SDR-based solutions for our system. Define and document technical requirements, system architecture, and design specifications for the SDR component. Develop and optimize signal processing algorithms for real-time radio frequency (RF) applications. Evaluate and select appropriate off-the-shelf (OTS) SDR solutions based on system requirements and constraints. Integrate SDR hardware with other system components, including computing modules, sensors, and network interfaces. Provide guidance on system-level architecture decisions with respect to the SDR subsystem. Conduct performance analysis and testing to ensure the SDR meets or exceeds system requirements. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, firmware, and software issues related to SDR implementation. Stay up-to-date with advancements in SDR technology and identify opportunities for system enhancements. Collaborate with the engineering team to align SDR development with overall system goals. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members working on the project.

Qualifications (Preferred): Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in designing and implementing SDR systems, including hands-on experience with SDR platforms such as GNU Radio, Ettus USRP, or similar. Proficiency in RF signal processing, modulation techniques, and communication protocols. Strong programming skills in languages such as C/C++, Python, or MATLAB. Experience with FPGA development and firmware design for SDR applications. Familiarity with RF hardware, antennas, and spectrum analysis tools. Knowledge of off-the-shelf SDR solutions and the ability to assess their suitability for various use cases. Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills. Strong communication skills and the ability to document designs and test results effectively. Experience in leading projects or teams is a plus.

Work Environment: This is a US -based remote position with collaboration via online tools and occasional travel for team meetings or field testing. The role may require the use of specialized testing equipment for RF and SDR development. Standard working hours with flexibility based on project needs. Benefits: Competitive salary Flexible work hours and the option for remote work. Opportunities for professional development and continued education.
