We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to oversee and optimize the production of our Smartmast platform - a ruggedized edge-compute sensor system designed for maritime environments. In this role, you will manage an established production line in collaboration with our contract manufacturing partner, ensuring efficient operations, coordinating production changes, and driving continuous improvements in manufacturing methods and logistics. Your expertise in design for manufacturability will be applied toward enhancing assembly design and product quality.


Key Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day operations of the Smartmast production line, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards Collaborate with contract manufacturing partners to implement production changes, resolve issues, and optimize production processes Coordinate logistics and supply chain activities with CM to ensure timely availability of materials and components Analyze manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, cost, and quality Lead DFM initiatives to enhance product design for manufacturability, reducing complexity and assembly time Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flows, and quality control plans Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track production performance and drive continuous improvement Support new product introductions by coordinating with design and engineering teams to ensure smooth transition to production


Qualifications (Preferred): Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Systems, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field 4+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on production line management and DFM Proven experience working with contract manufacturers and coordinating cross-functional teams Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, logistics, and supply chain management Proficiency in CAD / PDM software or other manufacturing documentation tools Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external partners Experience in the production of ruggedized or maritime equipment is a plus
