About the role
•We are seeking a Mission Success Engineer with a strong technical background in data and engineering, as well as experience in intelligence analysis and intelligence software platforms. In this role, you will serve as the vital link between our customers, engineering team, and product development, ensuring our maritime domain awareness solutions meet the operational needs of intelligence analysts and other end users.
As the Mission Success Engineer, you will report to the Head of Engineering while collaborating closely with the Head of Customer Success to address technical customer inquiries, resolve challenges, and help shape product solutions that deliver exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Support: Serve as the technical point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries related to portal functionality, API integrations, sensor capabilities, and data workflows.
- Technical Liaison: Collaborate with the Head of Customer Success to translate customer requirements into actionable feedback for the engineering team.
- Product Tailoring: Leverage your expertise in intelligence analysis workflows and platforms to customize product solutions that align with customer missions.
- Problem-Solving: Diagnose and resolve customer-reported technical issues, working with engineering teams to ensure timely and effective solutions.
- Documentation and Enablement: Develop and maintain technical documentation, FAQs, and other resources to empower customers and minimize repetitive inquiries.
- Training and Demos: Lead customer training sessions and product demonstrations to showcase platform capabilities and best practices.
- Feedback Integration: Actively gather feedback from customers to drive product improvements and inform development priorities.
Qualifications
- Experience in maritime domain awareness, defense, or government sectors.
- Familiarity with project tracking tools such as Jira or Confluence.
- Knowledge of API standards, data visualization tools, or geospatial analysis.
- Technical Expertise: Strong foundation in data engineering, software development, or related fields, with hands-on experience in APIs, sensors, or similar technologies.
- Intelligence Experience: Knowledge of intelligence analysis workflows, platforms, or software tools used by analysts.
- Customer Engagement: Demonstrated ability to engage with customers, understand their needs, and provide tailored technical solutions.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges with a focus on delivering results.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and accessible way.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and customer success teams.
Work Environment
•This is a remote position. Our company is headquartered in Washington, DC. Occasional travel there may be necessary (1-2x/year). Our company has staff members throughout the world, which means a lot of the work may happen asynchronously due to various time zones.
