About the role:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Finance to lead our finance organization as we scale and continue to grow. The VP of Finance will oversee all aspects of financial management, reporting, compliance, and strategic planning. This leader will play a key role in driving financial discipline, supporting growth initiatives, and partnering with the executive team to ensure strong fiscal stewardship.
This role is hands-on and highly visible, requiring a balance of technical expertise, leadership, and strategic insight. The VP of Finance will manage our financial operations, ensure accurate reporting, oversee external audits and tax compliance, and provide financial analysis to support business decisions.
Responsibilities include:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for leadership and the Board of Directors.
- Deliver accurate and timely management reporting, including SaaS metrics.
- Partner with business leaders to analyze financial performance and provide actionable insights.
- Accounting & Compliance
- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and revenue recognition.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, SaaS accounting standards (ASC 606), and internal controls.
- Manage annual financial audits and coordinate with external auditors.
- Oversee tax compliance across federal, state, and international jurisdictions.
- Strategic Finance & FP&A
- Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Build financial models to support growth initiatives, pricing strategies, and product expansion.
- Monitor cash flow, capital allocation, and working capital requirements.
- Mergers & Acquisitions
- Support the CFO in evaluating strategic transactions, including acquisitions, investments, and partnerships.
- Conduct financial due diligence and integration planning.
- Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, precision, and continuous improvement.
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Sales, Marketing, Product, and HR to ensure financial alignment with company goals.
- Treasury & Capital Management
- Manage banking relationships and optimize debt and credit facilities.
- Oversee cash management, liquidity, and investment strategies.
- Monitor financial covenant compliance.
- Systems & Process Optimization
- Drive automation and efficiency in financial systems (ERP, billing, expense management, SaaS metric tracking).
- Implement best practices in internal controls, scaling processes to support rapid growth.
- Partner with IT/Operations on financial system integrations.
Required Qualifications:
- CPA designation strongly preferred; MBA or advanced degree a plus.
- 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including leadership roles within high-growth SaaS or technology companies.
- Strong background in GAAP, SaaS revenue recognition, and corporate tax.
- Experience with mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence and post-acquisition integration.
- Ability to present complex financial concepts clearly to leadership, board members, and non-financial stakeholders.
- Proven track record of leading finance functions at a scaling company
- Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
- Strong leadership and people management experience, with the ability to scale a finance team.
- Hands-on operator with a willingness to dive deep into details while maintaining strategic oversight.
