About the role:
We are looking for a skilled and proactive mid-level Security Administrator to support and enhance our organization’s cybersecurity posture. This role involves managing and maintaining security systems, monitoring network traffic for suspicious behavior, enforcing access controls, and assisting with incident response and vulnerability management.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with security technologies (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM tools), a solid understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across IT and business teams. This position is well-suited for professionals ready to take ownership of key security operations while contributing to the development of security policies and procedures.
Responsibilities include:
- Monitor security dashboards and systems to identify, investigate, and remediate potential issues and threats.
- Manage centralized software licensing across the organization.
- Evaluate new and updated software to ensure it is secure, compliant, and free from vulnerabilities, malware, or other malicious content.
- Partner with Product and other teams to perform security reviews and support risk assessments.
- Proactively hunt for, analyze, and remediate security threats across infrastructure, applications, and endpoints.
- Maintain and optimize the organization’s information security scanning and monitoring toolsets.
- Collaborate with employees to remediate identified security, compliance, or system issues.
- Support and collaborate on project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Confluence, Jira).
- Implement, configure, and maintain security technologies such as firewalls, anti-malware solutions, intrusion detection systems, and encryption tools.
- Monitor network and system activity, respond to security incidents, and conduct root cause analysis.
- Perform vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, system audits, and risk analysis to ensure compliance with internal policies and industry standards.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of incident response plans and disaster recovery strategies.
- Stay current on emerging security threats and recommend proactive solutions to reduce risk.
Required Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of experience with Microsoft Office and Office 365 administration.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience with Linux and Windows operating systems.
- 3–5 years of experience with cloud service providers such as Azure, AWS, or similar platforms.
- Proficiency with the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, etc.).
- Strong understanding of information security principles, tools, and best practices.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong teamwork mindset with the ability to build and maintain cross-functional relationships
The pay range for this role is:
80,000 - 110,000 USD per year (Remote (United States))
