Job Summary

The Director of Retirement Solutions Operations leads the operational strategy and execution supporting the company’s retirement product portfolio, including fixed, fixed indexed, income solutions, and other retirement-focused products. 

This role ensures scalable infrastructure, suitability excellence, carrier alignment, and advisor enablement to support high-quality retirement planning distribution. The Director drives placement efficiency, regulatory integrity, and an elevated advisor experience while supporting company growth objectives in retirement revenue. 

A key component of this role includes strategic operational collaboration with our partner, Advisors Excel, ensuring alignment in case design, underwriting support, carrier access, advanced markets resources, service execution and commission payout systems and timelines – working cross-functionally with finance, carriers and Advisor’s Excel. 

This is both a strategic and hands-on leadership role requiring deep retirement product expertise, operational rigor, and cross-functional influence. 


Responsibilities:

  • Retirement Operations Strategy: Develop and execute a strategic operational roadmap that accelerates retirement solutions growth by aligning infrastructure with sales initiatives, marketing campaigns, and carrier expansion efforts. Integrate and optimize workflows that fully leverage Advisor’s Excel’s case design, advanced markets, and carrier resources, while building scalable processes that support increased volume without compromising compliance integrity. Establish and actively manage KPIs directly tied to retirement revenue growth and operational efficiency to ensure measurable, sustainable results. 
  • End-to-End Agent Journey – Retirement Solutions: Oversee the full retirement case lifecycle, including the reset program, SME contracting, pre-submission review, suitability, submission, carrier follow-up, funding, delivery, and accurate & timely commission releases, 11-month summary and post engagement strategies ensuring a seamless and compliant experience from start to finish. Drive measurable improvements in submission-to-issue and issue-to-funding cycle times and establish clear escalation frameworks for high-value or time-sensitive cases across internal teams and Advisors Excel partners. 
  • Carrier & Partner Alignment: Serve as the primary operational liaison with internal departmental leaders, Advisor’s Excel, retirement carriers, ensuring strong alignment and accountability across all touchpoints. Partner closely with Advisors Excel to streamline workflows, fully leverage case design resources, and optimize advanced planning support. Define and manage clear SLAs and performance metrics that elevate partner execution, improve turnaround times, and enhance overall advisor satisfaction. 
  • Carrier Liaison: Lead structured, recurring carrier governance meetings to drive measurable improvements across digital insurance products, focusing on financial performance, agent experience, operational efficiency, and growth opportunities. 
  • Advisor Enablement & Experience: Elevate the retirement submission experience for advisors and agency leaders by creating streamlined, transparent processes that drive confidence and efficiency. Translate operational data into actionable insights for Sales and Distribution teams, enabling proactive coaching and smarter decision-making, while enhancing real-time visibility into pipeline health and funding status to support predictable growth. Provide Agency Owners with clear visibility into pipeline health and funding velocity, and ensure field readiness for new retirement initiatives, product launches, and joint programs. 
  • Best-in-Class Retirement Operational Engine: Drive measurable impact by increasing retirement product placement ratios, reducing NIGO and suitability friction, and accelerating funding and commission cycles. Strengthen compliance safeguards to protect the organization from regulatory risk while enhancing advisor confidence and long-term loyalty. Ultimately, maximize the full strategic value of the partnership with Advisors Excel to support sustainable growth and operational excellence. 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred 
  • 5+ years’ experience in retirement product operations 
  • Strong expertise in fixed, indexed and variable annuities 
  • Deep understanding of retirement income planning concepts 
  • Experience collaborating with 1099 agents and external partners

Preferred Qualificaitons: 

  • FINRA Series 6/7 and 24/26 
  • Life & Health License 
  • Experience working directly with Advisors Excel 
  • Demonstrated success scaling operations in growth environments

Supervisory Responsibility 
This position has no supervisory responsibilities. 


Work Environment 
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This is largely a sedentary role; however, building access is limited to two sets of stairs and may require lifting or moving objects up to 30 lbs. The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work 
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

The pay range for this role is:

120,000 - 130,000 USD per year (Remote)
