Job Summary
Quantum Fulfillment Services is a yearbook and photobook printer and publisher located in the West Windsor area. We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead and execute all maintenance activities within our manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and optimal performance of production equipment, building systems, utilities, and water systems.
The Maintenance Manager leads a team of 3–5 maintenance technicians and works closely with Operations, Production, and Safety teams to minimize downtime, support high-volume seasonal production cycles, and maintain quality standards critical to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Equipment Management
- Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for printing presses, binding equipment, cutting systems, packaging lines, and material-handling equipment.
- Ensure maximum uptime and performance of manufacturing equipment, particularly during peak production seasons.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
- Maintain facility systems including HVAC, compressed air, electrical distribution, plumbing, and overall infrastructure.
- Monitor and maintain water quality systems to support production equipment performance and facility standards.
- Manage spare parts inventory, maintenance tools, and service contracts.
Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise, coach, and develop a team of 3–5 maintenance technicians.
- Assign daily work orders, prioritize tasks, and schedule coverage to meet production demands.
- Provide training on equipment operation, safety procedures, and best maintenance practices.
- Conduct performance reviews and support professional development within the maintenance team.
Planning, Scheduling & Continuous Improvement
- Develop and manage preventive maintenance schedules aligned with production requirements.
- Track and analyze maintenance KPIs including downtime, response time, and equipment reliability.
- Identify recurring issues and implement root-cause corrective actions.
- Recommend and support equipment upgrades, process improvements, and capital projects.
Safety, Compliance & Quality
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OSHA regulations, local safety requirements, and company safety standards.
- Promote a strong safety culture through training, audits, and strict adherence to lockout/tagout procedures.
- Support quality standards essential to yearbook and photobook production accuracy and consistency.
Budgeting & Vendor Management
- Manage the maintenance budget, including labor, parts, and external service costs.
- Source, evaluate, and manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and equipment service providers.
- Identify cost-effective solutions without compromising safety, quality, or reliability.
Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience supporting high-speed production equipment.
- Working knowledge of CMMS systems and preventive maintenance programs.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
Preferred:
- Experience in print, publishing, or photobook manufacturing environments.
- Technical certification or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience supporting seasonal or high-volume production cycles.
- Familiarity with Lean, TPM, or continuous improvement methodologies.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, especially during peak production periods.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with machinery, noise, and moving equipment.
The pay range for this role is:
65,000 - 80,000 USD per year (Everett)
