This role sits within our Financial Asset Management group in Charlotte, NC and plays a key role in shaping how we deliver value to our clients, within a collaborative team that values ownership, accountability, trust, and supporting one another.

 

Role & Responsibilities

The Accounting Manager plays a key leadership role within Radian Generation’s Financial Asset Management group, supporting a portfolio of renewable energy clients. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality accounting execution while leading and coaching a team of accounting professionals. With a strong sense of ownership and a customer-centric mindset, the Accounting Manager translates accurate financial reporting into insight, confidence, and long-term value for clients operating across the renewable energy lifecycle.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of accounting professionals, setting clear expectations, coaching performance, and maintaining a high standard of quality and accountability.
  • Oversee accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of renewable energy clients, ensuring timely monthly and quarterly closes in accordance with GAAP.
  • Serve as a trusted partner to clients, acting as the primary point of contact for deliverables, questions, and ongoing financial insight.
  • Apply sound technical judgment in addressing complex accounting matters, including research and application of GAAP guidance relevant to renewable energy assets and structures.
  • Ensure operational excellence across core accounting activities, including reconciliations, AP/AR, cash management, budgeting, draw requests, and variance analysis.
  • Maintain compliance with financing, partnership, and investment agreements, including debt service, equity distributions, and intercompany accounting.
  • Coordinate and support external audits and tax engagements, ensuring accurate documentation, clear explanations, and consistent GAAP compliance.
  • Develop, resource, and manage schedules for long-term projects, making scope and delivery tradeoffs as needed and reviewing work products and progress to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Collaborate across teams and stakeholders to manage priorities, resolve issues, and improve processes that enhance client service and portfolio performance.
  • Contribute to administrative, policy, and process improvement efforts, helping evolve team practices, documentation, and standards as the organization and client portfolio grow.

Qualifications & Experience

Must Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, with exposure to complex accounting matters; public accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience leading or managing others, including coaching, reviewing work, and setting performance expectations.
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and the ability to research and apply authoritative guidance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize work, adapt to change, and operate effectively in an evolving environment.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience in the renewable energy sector, such as solar, wind, or battery energy storage (BESS) or closely related infrastructure or energy environments.
  • Active CPA or CFA designation
  • MBA or other relevant master’s degree
  • Experience exploring or leveraging AI-enabled tools to improve financial analysis, reporting, process efficiency, or decision-making


This position is based in Charlotte, NC and is hybrid, with an expectation of being in the office two days per week. Relocation assistance and VISA sponsorship are not available for this role.


The target hiring range for this position is $110,000 – $120,000. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, and other relevant factors. This range is offered for informational purposes only and does not constitute a guarantee of any specific salary.
