Position Overview

Radian is seeking a pragmatic, business‑minded Assistant General Counsel (AGC) to serve as the company’s first senior in‑house lawyer and establish a scalable legal foundation focused on commercial contracting and risk management.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the AGC will be Radian’s primary internal legal partner for commercial contracting and sales enablement, with ownership of customer agreements, contract standards, and legal processes that support revenue growth. The role is deeply integrated with Sales, Operations, Product, and Compliance teams and is central to enabling efficient deal execution while maintaining disciplined risk management.

This is a hands‑on, execution‑oriented role. The AGC will design and implement core legal infrastructure, selectively manage outside counsel, and bring structure, consistency, and speed to Radian’s contracting environment as the business continues to scale.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Contracting & Sales Enablement

  • Own the drafting, review, and negotiation of commercial agreements, including MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, vendor agreements, and software/SaaS licensing agreements.
  • Serve as the primary legal partner to Sales and Operations, enabling efficient deal execution while maintaining appropriate risk discipline.
  • Design, maintain, and continuously improve contract templates, standard terms, and negotiation positions to support consistency and speed.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on contractual risk, commercial structure, and regulatory considerations in a clear, business‑oriented manner.
  • Provide timely, practical guidance that helps the business move forward while protecting Radian’s interests.

Legal Function Build‑Out & Outside Counsel Management

  • Build the foundation of Radian’s in‑house legal function, including contracting workflows, playbooks, clause libraries, and negotiation guidelines.
  • Manage outside counsel as needed, ensuring high‑quality work product, cost discipline, and alignment with business priorities.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that reduce friction in contracting and shorten deal cycles.
  • Establish legal practices and tools that scale with the business without slowing execution.

Corporate & General Legal Support

  • Support day‑to‑day legal needs, including corporate governance, employment‑related issues, intellectual property, and general risk management.
  • Assist with internal policies, legal guidance, and documentation related to Radian’s regulatory and compliance environment.
  • Provide contract interpretation, issue resolution, and ongoing risk management support to internal teams.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with the CEO and functional leaders to align legal support with commercial and operational priorities.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Compliance, and Operations teams on customer diligence requests and contractual obligations.
  • Help anticipate legal needs as Radian’s offerings and customer base expand.

Qualifications
