Position Summary:
We are seeking a full-time Payroll Accountant to join our finance team. The primary function of this role is to manage payroll accounting, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll twice a month. In addition to payroll responsibilities, this individual will assist as a corporate accountant for Rainey Property Management during non-payroll periods. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in payroll accounting, who is detail-oriented and committed to maintaining compliance and efficiency in our payroll processes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Process bi-monthly payroll for multiple property locations and corporate employees, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Maintain and update payroll records, employee deductions, and related payroll data.
  • Handle payroll inquiries, including resolving discrepancies and providing exceptional customer service to employees.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and analyze payroll reports, including labor cost analysis and payroll variance reports.
  • Conduct regular payroll audits to verify compliance and accuracy of payroll data.
  • Assist in the reconciliation of payroll-related accounts and prepare necessary journal entries.
  • During non-payroll periods, serve as a corporate accountant by:
    • Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and financial reporting.
    • Supporting the finance team with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
    • Collaborating on various accounting projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3+ years of payroll accounting experience; property management experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paylocity, or similar) and accounting software.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with HR, Finance, and employees.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Salary: $75,000

The pay range for this role is:
