Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on leadership of all day-to-day plant operations, including production scheduling, labor planning, equipment utilization, and throughput optimization.
- Oversees capacity planning, line balancing, and labor forecasting to meet customer demand and optimize operating margins.
- Champion a continuous improvement culture, utilizing Lean and Six Sigma tools to drive waste reduction, process efficiency, yield improvement, and cost control.
- Owns the plant’s safety culture and ensures compliance with OSHA, state, and local safety regulations.
- Lead proactive food safety and sanitation initiatives, ensuring a safe, audit-ready, and high-performing production environment.
- Monitor and drive key performance indicators (KPIs) including efficiency, yield, labor productivity, downtime, and quality metrics.
- Develop, coach, and mentor plant personnel, building a high-performance team focused on accountability, engagement, and results.
- Partner cross-functionally with Quality Assurance, Warehouse, Maintenance, and Logistics to ensure seamless operations and rapid issue resolution.
- Collaborate closely with Maintenance to ensure equipment reliability, preventive maintenance execution, and minimal production downtime.
- Manage plant budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and deliver on financial performance targets.
- Lead and support internal and external audits, ensuring consistent audit readiness and strong regulatory relationships.
- Cultivates a culture of teamwork, respect, and continuous learning across all shifts.
Required Key Skills and Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, or related experience.
- Extensive experience in food manufacturing environments with a proven record of successful plant leadership.
- Demonstrated success implementing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Minimum of 5+ years in progressive leadership roles within food manufacturing, with direct plant management experience preferred.
- Proven ability to drive operational excellence, cost reduction, and process improvement initiatives.
- Highly hands-on leadership style, with a strong presence on the production floor.
- Exceptional leadership, team-building, and coaching capabilities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.

The pay range for this role is:
110,000 - 120,000 USD per year (Central)
