About the role

As the HR Manager for Rearc India, you will be the single point of accountability for all people operations, compliance, and HR governance across our India entity. This is a highly operational, detail-driven role requiring exceptional organization, precision, and mastery of Indian labor and employment law.


You will own the full employee lifecycle in India, onboarding through exit, while ensuring strict compliance with all applicable labor laws, statutory filings, payroll processes, and benefits administration. This role is critical to protecting the company, supporting our employees, and enabling our leadership team to operate confidently in India.


You are someone who follows directions exactly, builds and maintains clean systems, anticipates compliance risk before it becomes a problem, and brings calm, structured execution to complex regulatory environments.


You are also deeply people-oriented. You care about the experience of employees in India and take ownership of ensuring they feel supported, heard, and treated fairly. You bring structure to human conversations, helping employees navigate feedback, growth, and change with clarity and professionalism, while maintaining consistency with Rearc’s standards and values.


What you'll do

  • Own end-to-end HR operations for Rearc India, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance at all times
  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable central and state labor laws, staying current as regulations evolve
  • Manage payroll inputs, reviews, and coordination with payroll providers, ensuring accurate and timely processing
  • Oversee income tax compliance related to payroll, including TDS deductions, filings, and annual forms
  • Manage statutory benefits and contributions, including EPF, ESI (if applicable), gratuity, insurance, and professional tax
  • Lead employee onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring all documentation, registrations, and benefits actions are completed correctly and on time
  • Maintain employee records, contracts, amendments, and policy acknowledgments in a clean, audit-ready state
  • Draft, update, and enforce HR policies aligned with Indian law and Rearc’s global standards
  • Act as the first line of defense for HR compliance risk, identifying gaps and proactively resolving them
  • Partner with global HR and leadership teams to translate India-specific requirements into clear, actionable guidance
  • Support employee relations matters with a strong grounding in legal requirements and best practices
  • Coordinate with external advisors, consultants, and auditors as needed
  • Prepare leadership-ready summaries on compliance status, risks, and required actions
  • Serve as a trusted advocate for India-based employees, ensuring their concerns, feedback, and needs are heard, addressed, and escalated appropriately when required
  • Facilitate regular one-on-one meetings with employees to support engagement, well-being, clarity, and alignment
  • Partner with managers to run structured performance review cycles, ensuring consistency, fairness, and clear documentation
  • Support employees and managers through career progression conversations, role clarity, and growth planning within Rearc
  • Coach managers on effective people management practices, including feedback delivery, performance improvement, and development planning
  • Act as a neutral, informed resource for employee questions related to policies, benefits, performance, and workplace concerns
  • Support employee relations matters with empathy, discretion, and a strong understanding of Indian employment law
  • Ensure India employees feel supported, informed, and cared for, while maintaining professional boundaries and compliance standards
  • Partner with global HR leadership to ensure India employee experience aligns with Rearc’s values while respecting local norms and regulations
  • Identify patterns or systemic issues impacting employee experience in India and proactively recommend improvements

We're looking for: 

  • 6–10+ years of progressive HR experience in India, ideally supporting a global or US-based company
  • Deep, hands-on expertise in Indian labor and employment laws, including but not limited to:
    • Shops & Establishments Acts
    • Industrial Disputes Act
    • Payment of Wages Act
    • Minimum Wages Act
    • Payment of Bonus Act
    • Payment of Gratuity Act
    • Maternity Benefit Act
    • Provident Fund (EPF) and ESI regulations
    • Professional Tax
    • Contract labor compliance
  • Strong working knowledge of India income tax law as it relates to payroll, TDS, Form 16, Form 24Q, and employee taxation
  • Experience managing statutory filings, audits, inspections, and government notices with confidence and accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted, credible relationships with employees at all levels, balancing empathy with sound judgment and policy adherence
  • Strong coaching and listening skills, with a track record of supporting employees through performance discussions, career growth, and workplace challenges in a fair, respectful manner
  • Extremely high organizational standards and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to build and maintain clear SOPs, checklists, and documentation
  • Ability to follow instructions precisely and execute consistently without deviation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially for explaining compliance matters clearly to non-HR stakeholders
  • Experience working across time zones with global leadership teams
  • Familiarity with HRIS and payroll systems (GreytHR experience is a strong plus)
  • High integrity, discretion, and a risk-aware mindset
