Reports to: Chief Operating Officer 

Work Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week hybrid position, with a minimum of 4 days in person. Occasional evenings or weekends as needed.

Compensation Range: $75,000 - $85,000

Redeemer Counseling (RCS) is a professional Christian counseling and training center based in midtown Manhattan. We connect the Gospel and counseling best practices for individuals and churches. Our staff of more than 40 professionally trained counselors and trainers journey with people to deeper healing and transformation.


Position Summary:

The Senior Manager of Operations and HR is a mission-driven and forward thinking individual who is responsible for managing all critical operations of the organization including operational logistics, HR, IT, systems, and facilities. They are the primary leader in ensuring that the organization runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis, in addition to promoting improvement for long-term growth and effectiveness.


Essential Functions:


Leadership

  • Informing, through effective data and reporting, organizational strategy including plans to optimize internal operations and efficient workflow.
  • Modeling professionalism, staff and counselor care, and effective conflict resolution.
  • Collaborate with department heads on administrative components related to their operations and HR, ensuring their needs are supported, and provide guidance, information, and training as needed.
  • In collaboration with the COO, assist in the development of the annual strategy with the team and regularly review, update, and assess progress. 


Operations

  • Lead and supervise the Operations team (4 regular staff and 2 on-call support staff) that manages the front desk, intakes, scheduling, and billing process for clients seeking counseling. Provide support, feedback, and management to the team with regular 1:1 and team meetings. Create and implement development plans for their professional growth.
  • Create a monthly front desk schedule and a weekly manager schedule to ensure that all critical functions are covered during all office hours.
  • Oversee the facilities in office management of midtown Manhattan offices, including the negotiation of vendor contracts, the implementation of safety policies, and coordinating building maintenance.
  • Provide guidance and tracking of critical staff support processes such as counseling credentials paperwork and professional development funds.
  • Oversee and support internal and external communication strategy (branding, social media, fundraising alignment) by providing direct supervision to the Communications Manager/Coordinator, including regular check-ins, performance feedback, and annual evaluations. Ensure the Communications Manager has the tools, clarity, and support needed to execute high-quality work.


Data and Systems

  • Oversee direction, policies, and procedures for RCS data management and systems including compliance to HIPAA requirements.
  • Train all staff on the use of these systems and provide frequent updates and training on best practices.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Finance, and Fundraising teams to provide data and reports for fundraising and marketing purposes.
  • Oversee data collection, reporting, and analytics (e.g. expenses, inventory, intakes and conversions, counselor utilization, staffing, etc.) and analyze/ formulate action steps.
  • Oversee and/or complete projects related to modifying, updating, and improving existing RCS systems and processes. Includes reviewing, managing, updating Standard Operating Procedures in coordination with COO.
  • Oversee annual client fee adjustment project and other adhoc projects as needed.

HR, IT, and Finance Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the Redeemer Central Services Human Resource team on network-wide policies, recruitment, benefit and payroll administration (e.g. HR Collegiate Team)
  • Provide oversight to all Human Resource processes at RCS, including onboarding, promotions, performance reviews, leaves of absence, and terminations.
  • Manage relationship with Redeemer Central Services IT team on information technology support for the staff and office.
  • Collaborate with the external vendor serving as RCS Bookkeeper regarding client billing, counselor pay, and counselor sick time.
  • Contribute to the annual budget process; collaborate with all departments to develop and monitor budgets. Serve as lead manager of Operations budget.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or work experience equivalent
  • Deep commitment to mental health services
  • Identify with the Christian faith, attend a church, and align to the statement of faith for RCS
  • 8+ years of professional experience in nonprofit/business management, operations, human resources, and/or finance
  • 3+ years of experience directly managing a team size of 4 or more
  • Demonstrated success leading the development, implementation assessment, and improvement of technology, administrative, and organizational development policies.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree or work experience equivalent
  • Familiarity with or a degree in psychology, counseling, or related field
  • 12+ years of professional experience in nonprofit/business management, operations, and/or human resources
  • Experience in Data management and analytics

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill set; experience and training; licensure, certifications, and ordination; and other organizational needs.
