About the role

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides general patient and Center assistance under the direct supervision of clinical leadership. They are responsible for patient transport, general maintenance of equipment, room turnover, and stocking supplies. There is no direct patient care.


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Transport patients to OR and PACU areas. Transport patients upon discharge.
  • Maintain the PreOP, OR, and PACU areas, equipment, and level of supplies.
  • Perform a variety of assisting and servicing activities to help maintain the Center.
  • Assist in room turnover.
  • Assist with cleaning carts and equipment between cases.
  • Assist in end of day cleaning and restocking.
  • Provide and give cooperative and courteous service to patients, staff, visitors and others as part of the Center’s commitment to quality services.
  • Work effectively as part of the healthcare team to facilitate the unit’s ability to meet its goals and objectives.
  • Follow the center exposure control plans for blood borne and airborne pathogens.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

 EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

 

Required:

·       High school diploma or equivalent

·       BLS certification
