About the Role

We’re looking for a Court Reporting Support Specialist (RSS) to help ensure the success of our court reporting team by providing responsive, day-to-day operational support.  In this role, you’ll be a key resource for reporters—answering questions, resolving issues, and escalating concerns when necessary. You’ll assist with live deposition support, training initiatives, and interdepartmental communication to ensure smooth operations and consistency across our team.  This role is designed for someone who thrives in a dynamic, detail-sensitive environment and wants to directly impact the success of real-time legal proceedings.

What you’ll do

·       Serve as a front-line resource for court reporters before, during and immediately after live proceedings.

·       Respond in real time to procedural questions, technical issues, and unexpected developments. 

·       Triage situations and escalate to the appropriate team or manager as needed.

·       Document incidents, flagging for follow-up or resolution by managers.

·       Monitor in-boxes and internal communication channels and route questions or issues to the appropriate team member.

·       Reverse shadow depositions and provide constructive observations to reporters and managers.

·       Step in to report depositions when coverage is needed.

·       Assist with data entry, record maintenance, and audit documentation to support compliance efforts.

·       Provide informal mentoring to new reporters and reinforce procedural consistency.

·       Assist with internal training initiatives and help reinforce process consistency across the team.

·       Support scheduling and job assignment coordination when needed.

·       Collaborate with other departments to ensure procedures are launched and run smoothly.

·       Serve as a resource to the court reporting management team by ensuring timely and efficient completion of various tasks assigned. 

What we’re looking for

·       Active Remote Online Notary (RON) certification or Remote Oath Administration (ROA) authorization (where permitted by state law).

·       AAERT Certified Court Reporter or equivalent certification from NCRA or NVRA.

·       Hands-on experience as a court reporter with strong procedural knowledge.

·       Clear and confident communicator, especially when providing peer support or relaying information to teams.

·       Calm, resourceful, and professional under pressure—especially in live deposition settings.

·       Strong attention to detail and ability to track issues, enter data accurately, and follow up.

·       Proactive problem-solver with a “support-first” mindset.

·       Well-versed in using technology platforms for scheduling, communication, and documentation.

·       Broad knowledge and use of court reporting software and equipment with the ability to troubleshoot common issues.

Nice-to-Haves:

·       Experience mentoring or supporting other reporters in a peer or training capacity.

·       Stenographic or voice experience or experience working with these methods of reporting.

·       Experience creating training materials or bulletins.
