The Role 

RentSpree is seeking a visionary Director of Product Management to lead our Payments & Fraud division. You'll spearhead the development and execution of a disruptive payments strategy, focusing on innovative solutions that streamline the rental experience for landlords and tenants across the US.

This leadership role demands a deep understanding of payments and financial services. You'll tackle technical challenges, implement robust fraud prevention measures, and champion initiatives to monetize rent payments through financial services and banking.

As a collaborative leader, you'll foster a strong team environment and bridge communication between US and international teams. Your immediate focus will be on creating a seamless onboarding experience for landlords and renters, while designing a scalable payment infrastructure to fuel RentSpree's future growth.

Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with User Research, Design, and Engineering to identify payment opportunities for the US single-family residential rental market while driving the product roadmap in alignment with RentSpree's strategic goals.
  • Prioritize new opportunities within the Payments & Fraud domain. Develop and communicate a clear product vision aligned with the company’s broader objectives.
  • Make impactful decisions influencing high-level business metrics. Measure outcomes, extract key learnings, and share insights across the organization.
  • Lead, organize, and execute effectively within two time zones (PST and Thailand GMT+7). Maintain RentSpree's competitive edge by ensuring product alignment with market trends and industry standards.
  • Proactively identify opportunities and drive innovation, thriving and adapting in a dynamic environment. Solve problems creatively for optimal efficiency.
  • Use data, market research, and competitor analysis to shape product direction. Collaborate with cross-functional teams for informed decisions.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Support, and payment processing vendors to manage the success of our payments capabilities.
  • Execute and author product briefs and product requirements, with individual oversight of a working squad and team. Contribute to the product backlog and lead by example.
  • Manage project scope, cross-domain dependencies, cross-departmental communication, and overall stakeholder alignment including status reporting.
 

Qualifications: 

  • 8+ years of experience in engineering or product management working with highly technical products, along with a BS or MS in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience leading people in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Deep knowledge of the payments ecosystem and best practices, including chargeback management, reversals, and non-sufficient funds requirements
  • Well-versed in identity and payments fraud prevention as well as onboarding strategies and technologies that mitigate risk
  • Data and metric-driven with an ability to focus on the right set of OKRs that tie back to business outcomes and the product roadmap
  • Proven ability to lead through influence, hold product managers accountable, and manage, coach, and develop people
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are necessary for implementing ideas and driving strategies in a rapidly changing environment
  • Passion for ensuring new experiences meet customer needs and align with business strategy and overall payment goals
  • Ability to support evening hours (5-7 pm PT / winter 4-6p PT) to coordinate effectively with teams in Thailand; Our ideal candidate is located on the US West Coast (PST)
