About the Role:
The Part-Time HR Generalist provides day-to-day administrative and operational HR support. This role helps ensure smooth execution of core HR processes while partnering closely with the HR Manager on priorities and projects.
This role is 20 hours per week with flexible scheduling during standard business hours. There is potential for this role to be converted into a full-time position by the end of 2026.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Talent Support
- Assist with drafting and posting job advertisements
- Screen resumes and conduct initial candidate outreach
- Coordinate interviews and manage interview logistics
- Conduct reference checks and prepare offer documentation
- Maintain applicant tracking system (ATS) records
Onboarding & Offboarding
- Prepare employment agreements and new hire paperwork
Coordinate onboarding schedules and documentation - Ensure new hires are set up in HRIS and payroll systems
- Conduct onboarding check-ins as assigned
- Prepare offboarding documentation and coordinate exit processes
Employee Records & HR Administration
- Maintain accurate employee files (digital and/or physical)
- Update HRIS records (status changes, compensation updates, etc.)
- Support benefits administration (enrollment changes, employee inquiries)
- Assist finance team with payroll preparation and data validation
- Generate basic HR reports as requested
Employee Relations Support
- Serve as a first point of contact for routine employee inquiries
- Escalate sensitive or complex matters to the HR Manager
Support documentation of employee relations matters - Assist with drafting routine employee communications
Policy & Compliance Support
- Support the implementation of HR policies and procedures
- Assist with policy updates and document formatting
- Help ensure compliance with applicable employment standards
- Track required training and compliance documentation
HR Projects & Process Improvement
- Support HR projects (e.g., engagement initiatives, performance cycle administration, handbook updates)
- Assist with organizing internal HR documentation and workflows
- Contribute ideas to improve efficiency and employee experience
- Support managers with HR-related administrative tasks
- Be an active member of the Event Planning Committee and Joint Health & Safety Committee
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of Employment Legislation
Working knowledge of applicable provincial employment standards, human rights legislation, and basic workplace compliance requirements. - Full-Cycle Recruitment Coordination
Ability to support technical and non-technical hiring, including drafting postings, coordinating interviews, managing candidate communications, and maintaining ATS records. - Employee Relations Support Skills
Ability to provide first-level guidance to employees and managers, document issues appropriately, and escalate complex matters to the HR Manager. - HR Administration & Process Management
Strong organizational skills to manage onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, leave tracking, and HR documentation in a fast-paced environment. - Confidentiality & Professional Judgment
Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive employee information with discretion and exercise sound judgment. - Communication & Stakeholder Support
Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with engineers, product teams, and leadership. - Adaptability in a Startup Environment
Ability to manage shifting priorities, support evolving policies/processes, and operate effectively with limited structure. - HRIS & Systems Proficiency
Comfort using HRIS, applicant tracking systems, and productivity tools (e.g., Google Workspace or Microsoft 365), with strong attention to detail in data management.
Essential Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- At least 1 year of HR or Recruitment Experience in the workplace (including co-ops or internships)
- Fluent in English
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- CHRP Designation (completed or in progress)
- Bilingual (English/French)
- Able to report to one of Rentsync's regional offices

The pay range for this role is:
20,000 - 25,000 CAD per year (Canada)
