Chances are you’re subscribed to a product or service, and chances are higher you’ve experienced a terrible cancellation workflow and retention pitches. What if there was a way to have the best experience for both the business and the subscriber? The answer is Renumerate and we’re looking for a founding engineer to be part of that journey.

What will you do?

As a founding engineer, you’ll collaborate closely with our co-founders and the engineering + design team to build experiences that delight both businesses and their subscribers. We’re pioneering creative applications of machine learning and AI to surface powerful, automated insights that help businesses deeply understand their subscribers and run engaging, intuitive retention workflows they’ll actually enjoy using.

You’ll be joining at an exciting time - we’re launching our beta and moving fast, You’ll help increase product velocity, ship new features quickly, and improve the underlying platform. Whether building back-end infrastructure, experimenting with retention offers, or fine-tuning user experience, you’ll play an important role in shaping the future of our product.

Our stack includes Rust, React, and PostgreSQL, and we’re exploring AI-driven insight layers to power more effective retention strategies. This is a unique role for someone who wants to focus on the backend, while still having influence across the stack and build alongside a prolific technical founder. (P.S. What have you done?

This is a senior-level position, so we’re looking for someone who’s had meaningful experience working across multiple roles, teams, and environments. You’ve shipped complex projects, made tradeoffs under pressure, and mentored others along the way.

We know there’s no single mold for success in this role. Our ideal candidate will bring a mix of the following, and what matters most is a strong learning mindset, a passion for building, and a desire to take ownership.

• Have built products from scratch on the web, mobile or backend
• Made tradeoffs between between shipping fast, experimenting, and building scalable platforms
• Have worked with AI, machine learning and LLM’s
• Built products that incorporate e-commerce, subscription management, or payments technologies
• Deployed to a cloud platform
• Grown comfortable in a terminal
• Worked with amazing teams and are self motivated and accountable
• Tried to launch your own startup
• Cared deeply about the user experience and attention to detail
• Engaged directly with customers before, whether as part of support, sales or research
