We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer who loves to build, automate and influence! We run lean and mean.  No cogs in the wheel here!  You’re not Engineer #302, you’ll be our DevOps expert making an impact on our tech stack, culture and growth!!

A day in the life

• You’re the Master of designing, building and maintaining AWS infrastructure using Terraform/Terragrunt, and related Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools across multiple accounts within an AWS Organization.  If you have to do it twice, you’re already writing the scripts so there won’t be a third time
• Implement and oversee configuration management (including secrets), version control, and infrastructure change processes.  
• You’ll manage Github Actions seamlessly while the Dev teams sing your praises.  You’re the bridge that gets containerized services from "Idea" to "Production".  Our Engineers w

• Collaborate with engineering teams to streamline code delivery and ensure efficient, automated release processes.
• Manage and support deployment pipelines for Next.js services running within the Vercel hosting platform
• You’ll implement IAM policies and security guardrails so robust everyone can sleep a little easier
• Build/Customize monitoring/alerting tools
• Improve up our DR and BCP plans

• Work closely with internal teams to deliver solutions that empower internal stakeholders.
• We span multiple time zones and use tools such as Notion and JIRA to communicate ideas, technical concepts, specs….
• Manage vendor relationships and coordinate effectively with service providers

Does this sound like you?

• 5 years of experience (or more) in a DevOps role support an AWS-based platform.
• Solid experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for automated testing and deployments preferable.  You have the skills, knowledge and confidence to ask questions, “trust but verify” and pushback when you need to
• You live and breathe Docker and deploying containerized services on AWS ECS, S3, Cloudwatch and ECR, including cost management, monitoring, and scaling workloads
• No legacy nightmares here!  Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform and/or Terragrunt) is second nature for provisioning and config management.  Vercel makes Nextjs deployments look like magic!
• Highly skilled in managing a security posture through AWS IAM roles, policies, and permissions and resource policies following least-privilege principles
• You have scripting skills such as Bash and/or Python
• You utilize AI tools such as Claude to make your life easier 
• You understand networking, security and secrets management within AWS and CI/CD environments.  
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide recommendations for ongoing improvements
• It would be great if you have experience working in mid to late stage start ups.  Nothing against big company experience but, we do a lot with a little.  We’re building and scaling while staying scrappy!
• Communication and collaboration are key!  Everyone here is smart.  We work in an ego free zone.  Sometimes we take on duties outside of our normal scope and happy to help each other.  We celebrate the wins and learn from the oops moments together!
• Bachelors degree in CompSci or related discipline OR proven ability to build scalable systems/solid industry experience
