About the role
- Resident Interface is building a modern, data-driven foundation for how we run the business and serve our clients. As the Data Insights & Analytics Manager, you will sit at the intersection of business teams, the Data Engineering organization, and our global data analysts. You’ll partner with stakeholders across Product, Collections, Legal/Evictions, Operations, Sales, and Customer Success to understand their data needs, shape the analytics roadmap, and translate those needs into clear projects for the analytics team. You’ll also work closely with Data Engineering to define and iterate the reports, KPIs, and analytics models that power decision-making and, over time, our embedded product analytics. This is a role for someone who is data-curious, business-minded, and highly organized—someone who loves turning messy questions into structured analytics work, and who is always looking for ways to help the company operate smarter using the data we already have.
What you'll do
Stakeholder Partnership & Intake
- Serve as the primary analytics partner for U.S.-based stakeholders across Product, Operations, Legal/Evictions, Collections, Sales, and Customer Success.
- Run structured intake: turn vague questions (“Why is X down?” / “How is Y performing?”) into clear, scoped analytical requests.
- Prioritize requests, manage expectations, and communicate timelines and trade-offs.
Analytics Orchestration & Coordination
- Translate business needs into well-defined projects and tasks for our global data analyst team.
- Work closely with the senior analyst who leads analysts tactically to ensure work is clearly scoped, well-documented, and delivered at high quality.
- Review outputs for clarity, correctness, and usefulness before sharing with stakeholders.
KPI & Reporting Design
- Partner with Anna and functional leaders to define and maintain core company KPIs across delinquency, collections, legal filings, AR, product performance, and customer outcomes.
- Document metric definitions, calculation logic, and “source of truth” standards so everyone is looking at the same numbers.
- Identify where metrics should evolve as products and operations change.
Collaboration with Data Engineering
- Work with the Software Development Manager of the Data Engineering team to ensure data models, tables, and pipelines support current and future reporting needs.
- Provide clear requirements for new datasets, dimensions, and aggregations needed for analytics and dashboards.
- Help iterate on core reports and KPIs as new insights emerge from analyst research and stakeholder feedback.
Insights & Continuous Improvement
- Proactively look for patterns, anomalies, and opportunities in the data surfaced by the global analytics team.
- Highlight meaningful insights to leadership: what’s working, what’s not, what changed, and what to investigate next.
- Suggest experiments, operational changes, or product improvements based on data-driven observations.
Dashboard & Deliverable Oversight
- Ensure dashboards (primarily in Power BI) are usable, accurate, and aligned with stakeholder needs.
- Work with analysts to improve layout, filters, and drill-downs based on user feedback.
- Help determine which recurring analyses become standard dashboards or automated reports.
Process, Standards & Documentation
- Help establish and enforce standards for analytics: documentation, naming conventions, validation steps, and delivery format.
- Maintain lightweight documentation (metric catalogs, dashboard guides, request templates) to support self-service analytics.
- Contribute to building an analytics culture where teams understand what data is available and how to interpret it.
Qualifications
Required
- 5–8 years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, data insights, or a similar role.
- Strong ability to work with SQL and/or BI outputs (not necessarily as the primary dashboard builder, but capable of understanding the data).
- Proven experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders, scoping analytical work, and structuring complex business questions.
- Experience collaborating with Data Engineering or data platform teams.
- Excellent communication skills—written and verbal—with the ability to tell clear, concise stories from data.
- Demonstrated ability to manage an analytics backlog and coordinate work across multiple initiatives.
Preferred
- Experience in fintech, collections, AR, legal/ops-heavy businesses, or other transaction-heavy environments.
- Familiarity with Power BI or comparable BI tools (Tableau, Looker, etc.).
- Experience working with or coordinating offshore / nearshore analyst teams.
- Exposure to modern data stack concepts (Snowflake/Redshift/BigQuery, dbt, etc.).
- Nice to Have: Background or familiarity with property management, PropTech, or rental real estate.
Mindset
- Data-curious: naturally digs into data to understand what’s happening and why.
- Business-oriented: cares about driving operational and financial outcomes.
- Organized and structured, able to manage competing requests and priorities.
- Collaborative, especially across time zones and disciplines.
- High ownership with a focus on accuracy, clarity, and impact.
