ResourceWise is seeking a candidate with strong knowledge within the petrochemical industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for market consulting through our online platforms as we provide business reports, market databases and forecasts used by customers across the globe. Consulting work will comprise of worldwide supply/demand balances, capacity, trade data, and prices that are used as benchmarks across the industry.
What You'll Do
- Develop Deep Industry Expertise: Build and maintain comprehensive knowledge of a specific chemical industry sector, becoming a trusted source for accurate pricing, supply, demand, and related market information.
- Monitor and Analyze Market Developments: Track industry trends, market movements, and key events, gathering reliable data and insights on pricing, supply/demand dynamics, and other critical market factors.
- Deliver Insightful Market Intelligence: Collaborate with consultants, managers, and marketing teams to provide ResourceWise subscribers with timely analysis, expert commentary, and strategic perspectives on market trends.
- Contribute to ResourceWise Platforms: Regularly deliver high-quality weekly and monthly business reports for platforms such as OrbiChem360, highlighting price movements, significant market events, and their implications for supply chain participants.
- Serve as an Industry Thought Leader: Establish yourself as a recognized market expert whom industry participants rely on for strategic insights, forecasts, and informed opinions.
- Maintain Market Databases: Manage and update comprehensive databases on product groups, including global supply and demand balances, production capacities, and plant operations.
- Engage Through Public Speaking: Represent ResourceWise at industry events, confidently delivering presentations, moderating discussions, and communicating complex market dynamics to diverse audiences.
- Support Business Growth: Once core competencies are demonstrated, expand coverage to include additional products or geographic regions in alignment with the company’s strategic growth objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent
- 3 years or more - chemical industry work experience
- Familiarity with chemical industry product flows, industry terminology and relationships within the chemicals sectors
- Fluency in English required
- Excellent writing skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong ability to develop, source and write industry-relevant news
- Good interpersonal and communications skills, with the ability to network and build new contacts
- Ability to work independently, drive improvement, and analyze data/information to produce market insights for ResourceWise subscribers.
- General interest in and ability to write about and discuss macro-economic and business intelligence relevant to the industry.
- Ability to work from home, access to reliable internet and communications equipment
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to always maintain professionalism and confidentiality
- Business travel for client visits or conferences
