About the Role
We are looking to fill the need for a Sales Director, North America, responsible for driving revenue growth, profitability, and market share along our forestry vertical. The primary function of this role is to accelerate the growth of sales of our mill data and market benchmarks in the pulp, paper, and packaging industry (including FisherSolve and Forestat Global – Business Intelligence Platforms). The successful candidate will be an entrepreneurial, hands-on, self-starter who is energetic, persuasive and well organized. This position will report to our VP – Forest Value Chain.
What You'll Do
- Generate new sales of ResourceWise products, particularly our subscription BI platforms
- Call and visit prospective customers to understand potential need and be able to demonstrate how similar use cases can be solved with a ResourceWise platform
- Potential customers include pulp & paper mills, suppliers to mills, saw mills, packaging and converting plants, consumer products goods companies
- Develop and implement sales strategies and plans to drive revenue growth and profitability
- Create strong relationships with key client stakeholders at both senior and mid-management levels to open opportunities for subscription upsells and/or consulting projects
- Provide assistance with contracts, contract renewals, data submissions and report delivery
- Work collaboratively with the operations team to improve current products and develop new products
- Work closely with colleagues on cross-territory opportunities
- Identify and solve client issues strategically
- Act as an industry expert, liaison and trusted advisor to both customers and the larger industry
- Represent the company at trade shows, trade association meetings and industry meetings
- Establish yourself as a power user of Forest Vertical BI Platforms to be able to understand customer pain points and ask pertinent questions of prospective clients
Qualifications
- 10-20 years of industry experience with established contacts in pulp, paper and packaging or the forest products industry
- A proven track record of business-to-business sales across small and enterprise customers
- Demonstrated skill set in: account acquisition, selling, presentation, and negotiation.
- Ability to understand and communicate customer needs, marketplace dynamics, industry trends, and competitive threats within a market
- Demonstrated understanding of the basic principles of descriptive statistics, supply and demand economics, and using market information to improve business performance
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong written communications skills including the ability to write reports and other correspondence and assist with the creation of content to support marketing and public relations efforts
- Keen business sense, with the ability to find creative business-oriented solutions to problems
- Ability to travel a minimum of 20% of your time to meet customers in support of business growth
- Competency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience and success in utilizing CRM to enhance sales pipeline management
