Position:  Inside Sales Representative
Corporate Office:  San Ramon, California

Salary: $85,000 - $95,000 per year. The successful candidate's starting base will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.  It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the base range for this role.

The Inside Sales Representative drives RheoSense’s growth by proactively identifying and developing new prospects, engaging potential customers, and guiding them through the technical sales process. You are a motivated, curious, and persistent sales professional who enjoys uncovering new opportunities, initiating conversations, and building relationships with scientists, engineers, and technical buyers. You communicate clearly, stay organized, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment where consistent outreach, follow‑up, and pipeline development are essential to success. Training on RheoSense products, applications, and sales processes will be provided.
Job Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Proactively identify, research, and develop new prospects through outbound outreach, targeted campaigns, and consistent pipeline‑building activities.
  • Conduct high‑quality outreach via phone, email, LinkedIn, and other channels to generate new opportunities.
  • Respond to inbound inquiries and qualify leads to understand customer needs and application requirements.
  • Assist the Sales team with product presentations, demos, follow‑up communications, and other activities that support moving prospects through the sales cycle.
  • Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date records in HubSpot CRM, ensuring all prospect interactions, activities, and pipeline stages are properly documented.
  • Collaborate with team members across Sales, Applications, Marketing, and Operations to support customer communication, technical information sharing, and order‑related coordination.
  • Maintain strong product knowledge and stay current on new features, updates, and industry trends, with training and ongoing support provided.
  • Support the effort in sales reporting, forecasting, and pipeline management by providing accurate data and timely updates.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required. Candidates with equivalent experience in sales, lead generation, or customer outreach will be fully considered.
  • 1+ year of experience in inside sales, outbound prospecting, SDR/BDR work, or a related customer‑facing role.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage prospects professionally via phone, email, and digital channels.
  • Comfort with outbound prospecting, including cold calling, cold emailing, and LinkedIn outreach.
  • Ability to learn technical products and communicate value to scientific or engineering audiences; training will be provided.
  • Experience using CRM software and maintaining accurate records; familiarity with HubSpot is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple leads, tasks, and follow‑ups.
  • Self‑motivated and persistent, with a proactive approach to finding and developing new prospects.
  • Proficiency with standard office tools, including Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in scientific instrumentation, laboratory equipment, or other technical product sales.
  • Familiarity with rheology, viscosity, fluid measurement, or related scientific concepts.
  • Prior success in an SDR/BDR‑style role with measurable outbound prospecting results.
  • Experience using HubSpot CRM, including workflows, sequences, and pipeline management.
  • Strong research skills for identifying new accounts, contacts, and market segments.
  • Ability to tailor communication to scientists, engineers, and technical decision‑makers.
  • Experience collaborating with Sales, Marketing, Applications, or Operations teams in a technical environment.
  • Comfort working in a fast‑paced environment with evolving priorities and multiple concurrent outreach efforts.

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for extended periods while working at a computer.
  • Ability to operate a computer, keyboard, phone, and other standard office equipment.

  • Occasional movement within the office to access files, equipment, or attend meetings.
  • Ability to lift or move items up to 20 lbs. (such as marketing materials, small equipment, or trade show supplies) as needed.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for trade shows, customer visits, or marketing events (if applicable).
