About the role

We are looking to add an Internal Audit Intern to our Austin or Colorado offices.  You will be a key member of our Internal Audit team, assisting with testing information technology (IT) controls. You’ll be able to apply your education in a hands-on, fast-paced learning environment, collaborate with stakeholders across the business, and contribute to impactful company projects.


Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and operational audits by assisting in risk assessments, control testing, and documentation of audit procedures to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and business processes.
  • Work with subject matter experts on identifying areas of improvement & streamlining business processes.
  • Facilitate the review and validation of control documentation in collaboration with control owners to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards and requirements.
  • Assist in control walkthroughs and in executing testing procedures to evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls.
  • Contribute to special projects and ad-hoc initiatives that enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the internal audit function.

Requirements

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel (i.e. formulas such as VLOOKUP)
  • Preferably local to the Austin, TX or Castle Rock, CO area or willing to relocate on your own – relocation assistance not provided by the company
  • Commit to interning for 10 weeks over the summer with ability to report to the office at least 3 days per week from June 1st- August 7th

Education and Experience 

  • Rising Sophomore, Junior, or Senior pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Prior auditing internship experience a plus

The pay range for this role is:

24 - 27 USD per hour (Riot - Denver (RDC))
