Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can hire a new employee anywhere in the world and set up their payroll, corporate card, computer, benefits, and even third-party apps like Slack and Microsoft 365—all within 90 seconds.

Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.4B+ from the world’s top investors—including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock—and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to be a foundational member of the Rippling PEO team. As a Risk Manager for Rippling PEO, you will be responsible for supporting our workers’ compensation benefit offering. You will work closely with our workers’ compensation carrier, insurance broker and actuary to build tooling, manage workers’ compensation risk and optimize the book’s performance. This is a highly cross-functional role with a direct impact on Rippling’s operational and financial performance. The Risk Analyst role is highly visible with rapid growth potential as the PEO WC team scales.

What You Will Do:

  • Partner with product and engineering teams to design and implement scalable processes and systems to manage workers’ compensation risk efficiently.
  • Develop and oversee strategies to identify, assess and mitigate risk, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.
  • Build the foundational tooling and reporting framework for PEO workers’ compensation claims, risk management and revenue.
  • Launch, develop and maintain up-to-date standard operating procedures to manage claims with scale.
  • Establish, monitor and own key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) with stakeholders to ensure operational targets are met.
  • Support and execute financial audits and other adhoc projects for the PEO team.
  • Manage payroll, billing and invoice reporting and reconciliations.
  • Work cross-functionally to drive improvements in our risk assessment, underwriting and quoting process that lead to efficiency gains and improved client experience inside of Rippling’s product.

What You Will Need

  • At least 5 years of experience in insurance or financial risk management, preferably workers’ compensation.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, Excel and Tableau; bonus points for SQL and Snowflake.
  • Experience implementing automation and technology solutions to manage claims.
  • Mastery of time management, balancing competing priorities, and executing tight timelines.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to make data driven decisions.
  • An eye for process improvement; you like to dig into the details to surface learnings that enable us to better meet our commitments to our clients and partners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative and cross-functional mindset.
  • Passion for fast-paced, tech-centric organizations with the proven ability to build and scale processes and tooling from the ground up.
  • Project management certification preferred but not required.
