About The Role

We're looking for an experienced compliance specialist to join Rippling’s Global Payroll Operations team. We are rapidly expanding Rippling to serve the needs of employees and employers all over the world. Our Global Payroll Operations team plays a critical role in ensuring the success of our global payroll products, which are natively built and fully integrated with Rippling’s broader suite of products.


The Global Payroll Compliance Specialist will own all payroll and tax compliance requirements across the United Kingdom and Ireland to drive our expansion into new customer segments. Candidates should have knowledge of required pay rules, calculation structure, and all leave requirements.  


This is an exciting role that requires significant cross-departmental engagement across Legal, Product, Sales, and Engineering, with a major impact on the product and customer experience. 


Please note, this role is based in either our London or Dublin office. 


What you will do

  • Define earnings leave calculations according to UK/IE regulations, build test cases and work closely with engineering to ensure accurate implementation 
  • Perform payroll comparison analyses, and conduct comprehensive risk reviews to verify accuracy and recommend corrective actions 
  • Partner with R&D functions to define detailed compliance in-product policies and feature requirements, and ensure they are prioritized in the product roadmap
  • Partner closely with government agencies; track ongoing updates to UK/IE labor laws and ensure Rippling’s product remains on the cutting edge of those changes


What you will need

  • Demonstrated knowledge of UK/IE labor laws and payroll tax requirements, particularly with payroll calculations, rules and event-based leave types across all provinces
  • Certifications with the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) and the Irish Payroll Associations (IPASS)
  • Experience in identifying payroll compliance risks, accuracy verification, implementing controls, and conducting agency communication to resolve matters
  • Prior exposure to local authority audits and investigations, with strong record-keeping, methodology usage, and resolution of issues 
  • Strong project management and organizational skills: high attention to detail with excellent work product, time management, and project execution
  • Proven track record of success managing multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Stellar communication and presentation skills; the ability to simplify complex concepts for any audience
  • Experience with Google Suite or Microsoft Office, especially Docs/Sheets/Excel, for data analysis and task organization; familiarity with Salesforce, JIRA, and Confluence a plus
  • Ability to overlap with U.S. hours (both Eastern and Pacific time zone - EST/PST)
