About the role


The EMEA Indirect Tax Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of indirect tax compliance in EMEA and assisting with broader advisory and strategic planning globally. This role will ensure that the business remains compliant with evolving VAT, GST, and other indirect tax regulations while identifying opportunities for process efficiencies and tax savings. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in indirect tax across multiple jurisdictions, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross functional teams. The successful candidate will also play a pivotal role in building and maintaining the various processes and controls required to ensure Rippling is meeting its compliance and operational obligations as it continues to grow internationally.

What you will do

  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation, filing, and payment of VAT, GST, and other indirect tax returns across the EMEA region.
  • Maintain proper documentation to support tax filings and audit requirements.
  • Monitor legislative changes and ensure compliance with new regulations across different jurisdictions.
  • Conduct periodic internal reviews to assess compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain indirect tax compliance policies and procedures to standardize processes across the organization.
  • Work closely with external advisors and tax authorities to resolve compliance-related issues and inquiries.
  • Identify and implement process enhancements and automation opportunities to improve the efficiency of indirect tax reporting and compliance.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies that align with business objectives while minimizing tax risk and exposure.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of tax technology solutions and ERP systems to streamline reporting and compliance.
  • Assisting on some non EMEA compliance processes included US and Canada sales tax compliance.

What you will need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Law, or a related field; a tax-related professional qualification (e.g., CTA, ACA, ACCA) is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of VAT/GST regulations across multiple EMEA jurisdictions.
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex tax laws, identify tax risks, and propose practical solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with ERP systems, tax reporting tools, and automation software is a plus.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience at a public accounting firm and or/ tax department of a multinational public company.
