About the role

Rippling is looking for a strategic and operationally rigorous Director of Workplace Operations to lead our North America workplace footprint across 6 worksites (and growing). This leader will own physical Workplace Operations, Workplace Technology, and drive the centralized standards and systems required to scale Rippling’s global offices in a high-growth environment. 


This role reports to VP of HR and partners closely with IT, Finance, Legal, and Senior Leadership.


Please note, this role will be required in the SF office 4x per week.

What you will own

  • Own end-to-end workplace operations across all North America offices, ensuring each site operates reliably, efficiently, and in alignment with Rippling’s standards for performance and experience.
  • Oversee our Workplace Technology strategy, including AV and vendors to deliver a seamless in-office and hybrid experience in close partnership with IT Product.
  • Drive vendor strategy across all worksites, including selection, contract negotiation, performance governance, and consolidation to ensure quality service and cost discipline.
  • Develop and execute a data-informed space planning and utilization strategy that aligns headcount forecasts, team needs, and workplace experience goals.
  • Shape workplace strategy by influencing footprint decisions, site selection criteria, and long term operational delivery in partnership with Real Estate and Finance.
  • Ensure workplace compliance, physical security standards, and business continuity planning across all locations.
  • Lead large-scale workplace transitions, including new office build outs, expansions, relocations, and change management initiatives tied to growth and evolving ways of working.
  • Build and implement a scalable, multi-site operating model that establishes consistent standards while allowing for local nuance.
  • Create standardized playbooks, SLAs, and performance metrics to drive accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across all locations.
  • Elevate the overall workplace experience so that Ripplers can do their best work, balancing productivity, culture, and fiscal responsibility across every site.

What you bring

  • 10+ years of experience in Workplace Operations, Facilities, Corporate Real Estate, or related operational functions within complex, fast-scaling organizations.
  • Experience building and leading multi-site workplace environments in high-growth technology companies, with demonstrated ability to scale systems alongside headcount expansion.
  • Proven ownership of multimillion dollar operating budgets, with strong financial acumen across forecasting, cost modeling, and vendor strategy.
  • Deep understanding of hybrid workplace technology, including AV systems, collaboration tools, and the infrastructure required to deliver a seamless in-office and distributed experience.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing scalable operating models, standardized playbooks, and performance frameworks across distributed locations.
  • Experience establishing service metrics and employee feedback mechanisms to continuously improve workplace experience.
  • Strong analytical and operational rigor, with the ability to translate space utilization, cost, and experience data into strategic recommendations.
  • Proven program leadership experience managing complex, cross-functional projects across IT, Security, Finance, Legal, and Real Estate.
  • Experience leading and developing distributed workplace teams, driving accountability and outcomes through leverage.
  • Executive presence and the ability to influence senior stakeholders on workplace direction and management.
  • Structured communicator, written and verbal, with the ability to distill operational complexity into clear, actionable plans.

A variety of factors are considered when determining someone’s compensation–including a candidate’s professional background, experience, and location. Final offer amounts may vary from the amounts listed below.

The pay range for this role is:

156,000 - 260,000 USD per year (US)
