About the role

The Performance Management team is responsible for a suite of products that help customers facilitate employee development, engagement and career growth. Our products help teams and orgs set goals, exchange feedback, manage compensation, foster career discussions, and create development plans. Our team works across the tech stack to build new product capabilities with an emphasis on development speed and delivering customer value.

You will collaborate closely with product management and design teams to drive the roadmap, prioritize development, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions, and driving the continuous improvement of our engineering practices.

What you will do

  • Work closely with product managers and designers to build delightful user experiences
  • Own the technical design of major components in our backend codebase
  • Work closely with other engineers on the team to develop scalable, fault-tolerant systems
  • Produce quality software that is shipped incrementally and continually at a high velocity
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to plan and deliver a high quality product to market
  • Interact with early customers and support them in being successful with new launches
  • Provide thoughtful feedback to your peers, and benefit from strong mentorship yourself

What you will need

  • 5+ years of professional experience as a software engineer
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Experience with backend systems operating at a significant technical and organizational scale
  • Preferred experience in our technology stack - Python, Django, React, Javascript, MongoDB, AWS
  • Experience with Frontend technologies, React experience preferred
  • Care for the end user experience (polish, usability, accessibility, performance)
  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment by identifying and pursuing areas of impact

A variety of factors are considered when determining someone’s compensation–including a candidate’s professional background, experience, and location. Final offer amounts may vary from the amounts listed below.

The pay range for this role is:

159,000 - 278,250 USD per year (US Tier 1)
