About the role

We're looking to hire a Strategic Finance Associate based in San Francisco, CA. This role will partner with functional stakeholders across our business and play a role in key financial decisions.

The primary responsibilities of the role will include a combination of building and maintaining models, creating new models to evaluate potential investments and product launches, assessing unit economics, and ensuring teams remain within financial guardrails . The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in finance at another high-growth technology company. Prior background in banking, private equity, or consulting is preferred though not required.

What you will do

  • Work closely with functional leadership, cross-functional partners, and colleagues across the Finance organization
  • Support the monthly close and re-forecast process
  • Coordinate with Accounting partners to ensure flow of information during close cycles
  • Create financial models from scratch to size business initiatives and the investment required to achieve them in order to help business leaders make ROI-based trade-offs.
  • Evaluate unit economics for new and existing products to understand their margins
  • Work with business unit leadership to set top line, budget, and headcount targets. Assist with monthly reporting to reconcile budgets vs. actuals to ensure that the company’s financial plan remains on track.
  • Conduct deep dive analysis into important trends that influence our financial forecast and use the results of the analysis to update the forecast
  • Partner with the business and cross-functional team members to develop and maintain robust, scalable forecasting models
  • Coordinate and prepare materials for executive review, including for board meetings and fundraising efforts

What you will need

  • 4+ years of finance experience. Previous career experience in banking or consulting is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills. This includes the ability to create financial models from scratch and an interest in conducting deep dive analysis to better understand key business drivers.
  • Self-starter. This individual should feel comfortable operating in a high growth environment, with a desire to take ownership of projects and drive them to completion with limited guidance.
  • Ability to collaborate with teams across the company. Strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with non-financial audiences.
  • Experience with financial planning tools (e.g. Anaplan), Salesforce, and SQL are a big plus but are not required.
  • Strong financial modeling and analysis experience with the ability to simplify complex problems into intuitive models
  • Excellent communication - written, verbal, and presentation
  • Passion for fast-paced entrepreneurial work environments
  • Organized, attentive to detail, and intellectually curious

If you don’t necessarily meet all of the requirements listed here, we still encourage you to apply because skills can be used in lots of different ways, your life experience is equally important sometimes.
