Senior GTM Engineer

About Rippling

Rippling gives businesses one place to run HR, IT, and Finance. It brings together all of the workforce systems that are normally scattered across a company, like payroll, expenses, benefits, and computers. For the first time ever, you can manage and automate every part of the employee lifecycle in a single system.

Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can hire a new employee anywhere in the world and set up their payroll, corporate card, computer, benefits, and even third-party apps like Slack and Microsoft 365—all within 90 seconds.

Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.4B+ from the world’s top investors—including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock—and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes.

We prioritize candidate safety. Please be aware that all official communication will only be sent from @Rippling.com addresses.

About the role

Data and workflow automations are uniquely powerful inside of Rippling’s growth engine because we (1) have a massive total addressable market (everyone needs payroll), (2) support hundreds of sellers across 30+ different products, and (3) have the resourcing and reputation of a business that has raised almost $2B.

We are looking for a growth product manager to collaborate with our growth engineers and own the growth roadmap on intent signals, data quality, custom growth tooling, and more to help Rippling continue on its rocketship growth trajectory.

You will be responsible for our marketing intent signals + how we action them, the logic that informs audience creation + suppression, building custom automations and workflows with our growth engineering team, finding ways to level up our messaging business-wide, and more.

We are looking for a high IQ, curious and hacky generalist. You don’t need prior experience in growth or marketing - but you should have past experience driving measurable outcomes and doing deeply technical work. You’ll have real responsibility over a critical part of the growth infrastructure, and you will learn about marketing, product, sales, and finance. This is a perfect role for anyone who loves building, growing revenue, systems thinking, and getting things done. You should apply if you want to become a world-class GTM leader.

What you will do

  • Own the data acquisition, definitions and usage of our existing intent signals
  • Find, test, and scale new intent signals that deliver alpha for Rippling
  • Obsess over data quality and definitions across the entire marketing stack
  • Leverage customer and prospect insights to level up how we segment and think about messaging worldwide
  • Support growth and marketing leads across other business units within Rippling
  • Deeply understand the GTM org and constantly look for new ways to help level up the team
  • Analyze data to understand what’s working and what’s not - from reading through replies to writing SQL and hopping into Excel
  • Work closely with growth engineering, marketing ops, revenue ops and sales to deliver impactful business outcomes

What you will need

  • 4+ years of experience doing both quantitative and qualitative work in a fast-paced environment, like founding a company or doing product/growth/engineering/GTM engineering at a startup
  • Clearly measurable experience driving some form of business impact (revenue, product creation, system builds, etc) in a past role at a big-leagues level of scale
  • Well honed technical skills beyond excel analysis. Ideally you will have some level of coding experience and you will be well versed in SQL
  • Hackiness and creativity balanced with scale. You’re constantly generating new ideas to test and you thoughtfully balance doing whatever it takes to get your projects over the finish line with building systems that can scale
  • Agility and speed. You’ll constantly try new growth ideas in this role. When things don’t work, you pivot; when they do, you move fast to scale them.
  • A product mindset. Manual processes bother you, and you have a track record of automating them. You are a naturally structured problem-solver.
  • Naturally curious. You are a hacker at heart with a history of running down random rabbit holes out of curiosity.
  • Excellent communication skills. Whether collaborating with technical teams on product specs or chipping in on copy for a new campaign, you communicate your ideas clearly and concisely, adapting your style to your audience and objectives
  • Interest in becoming world-class at GTM. You don’t need to have worked in growth before, but you should be excited to learn rapidly via challenging projects and have real ownership over business outcomes. You are motivated by the idea of owning a number and winning.
