About the role


The Identity team's mission is to provide a single source of truth for authentication and security policy management for all users and applications, enabling customers to confidently scale their organization on Rippling.


We're looking for passionate engineers to join us in defining the next generation of Identity at Rippling. This high-ownership, high-impact, and high-visibility role will directly impact Rippling's growth and success. As a Full-Stack Engineer (backend leaning), you'll have the opportunity to work across the stack, with a primary focus on backend development, to build revenue-generating products that directly serve our customers – IT administrators. You'll be building the features and tools that empower IT admins to manage their organization's identity and security on Rippling, directly contributing to customer satisfaction and company revenue. You'll take on diverse responsibilities, from writing and reviewing code to becoming a product area expert, and play a key role in shaping the team's culture and organization as we tackle complex engineering and business challenges.


What you'll do

  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver new user-facing product features and enhance existing ones.
  • Build and maintain high-quality, scalable, and reliable backend services that power our customer-facing identity management applications.
  • Own and be accountable for multiple product components, from initial concept and design through implementation, testing, and deployment.
  • Contribute to frontend development as needed, ensuring a cohesive and intuitive user experience for IT administrators.
  • Actively participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and mentorship opportunities to grow your skills and contribute to the team's success.


Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience in a production environment.
  • Strong backend development experience, with a solid understanding of API design and how backend services support user interfaces.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, product-focused environment.
  • Passion for building customer-centric products.
  • Prior experience with our stack (Python, Django, Go, React, MongoDB, and AWS) is a plus.

A variety of factors are considered when determining someone’s compensation–including a candidate’s professional background, experience, and location. Final offer amounts may vary from the amounts listed below.


The pay range for this role is:

135,000 - 236,250 USD per year (US Tier 1)
