About the role

Rippling is rapidly expanding its Global Payroll product, and France is one of our most complex payroll markets. We’re looking for a payroll-focused Compliance Specialist with strong expertise in French payroll rules, DSN, and social security regulations to support Rippling’s Product Compliance team.

In this role, you will translate French payroll regulations into clear product requirements, validate payroll logic, and ensure the accuracy and reliability of payroll computations as we scale in France. You’ll work closely with a Legal Expert, Product Managers, Engineering, and Payroll Operations to ensure that features are correctly scoped, implemented, and maintained as regulations evolve.

This role is ideal for an experienced French payroll professional who understands the interaction between payroll calculations, DSN flows, and regulatory requirements, and who wants to contribute directly to building a scalable and compliant payroll engine.

Full fluency in French and English (written and verbal) is required.

  • Monitor payroll-related regulatory updates (social security, DSN, tax rules, contributions, thresholds) and communicate their impact on product logic
  • Identify upcoming regulatory changes that affect payroll calculations or DSN reporting
  • Analyze payroll rules and edge cases to ensure correct and compliant product behavior

Payroll requirements & documentation

  • Produce detailed payroll specifications and compliance briefs for new features or updates

  • Help identify inconsistencies, gaps, or risks in existing payroll logic and propose corrections
  • Support QA and engineering during implementation and testing cycles

DSN & contributions

  • Support DSN-related scoping, mapping, and validation to ensure accurate reporting
  • Help maintain alignment between payroll calculations and DSN obligations

Cross-functional collaboration

  • Partner with Product Managers, Engineers, Legal Experts, and Ops teams to scope requirements and ensure correct understanding of payroll rules
  • Provide clarity on payroll edge cases and regulatory constraints during product development
  • Support operational teams when escalations require payroll or regulatory interpretation

Contribute to scalability & continuous improvement

  • Identify areas where payroll logic, workflows, or automation can be strengthened to reduce manual work and improve accuracy
  • Provide input into long-term payroll roadmap prioritization based on compliance risks and customer needs

What you will need

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in French payroll, ideally in a payroll provider or outsourcing environment
  • Strong knowledge of French payroll fundamentals, contributions, taxes, exemptions, and edge cases
  • Good understanding of DSN concepts, structures, and reporting constraints

  • Solid project management and prioritization skills
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving tech environment

Nice to have

  • Experience in SaaS, HRIS, or payroll software
