Senior Staff Software Engineer - HR Products

About Rippling

Rippling gives businesses one place to run HR, IT, and Finance. It brings together all of the workforce systems that are normally scattered across a company, like payroll, expenses, benefits, and computers. For the first time ever, you can manage and automate every part of the employee lifecycle in a single system.

Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can hire a new employee anywhere in the world and set up their payroll, corporate card, computer, benefits, and even third-party apps like Slack and Microsoft 365—all within 90 seconds.

Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.2B from the world’s top investors—including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock—and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes.

We prioritize candidate safety. Please be aware that official communication will only be sent from @Rippling.com addresses.

About the HR Products Engineering Org

HR Products Engineering is responsible for building some of the most business-critical, high-scale, and high-revenue products and systems for Rippling. From our most core product offerings (HRIS & Insurance and more) to major new products and initiatives that unlock our ability to enter into new verticals and go up-market (ATS & Scheduling and more), our org is both at the forefront of Rippling’s growth and foundational to its success.

We are looking for a few Senior Staff and Principal Software Engineers to take on some of HR Product’s major initiatives, across different layers of the stack, that are critical to the success of the company. There is a healthy variety of product, platform and infrastructural technical challenges that require a diverse set software engineering skillets!

Talent Products - ATS

Our newly launched Application Tracking System (ATS) (LI Post) is a key product in Rippling’s Talent Product strategy, enabling Rippling and its customers to hire their teams. We’re responsible for building a world-class ATS that enables the next generation of Talent products to scale. This team has a combination of both directly user-facing products as well as interfaces for other engineering teams. There are challenges for the team that range from building for usability to scaling for massive growth and a wide array of engineering requirements.

HRIS Platform

Rippling is rapidly adding new lines of business to its 20+ products while also expanding globally into many new countries each year. We are much more than HR - the HR Platform/HRIS group consists of several teams that build products, services, and frameworks that serve both external users and serves as a platform for teams internally at Rippling. This team serves as a platform which unlocks future lines of business and speeds up expansion in ways that directly affect the company’s bottom line.

Insurance & Benefits

The Insurance and Benefits team’s goal is to provide a modern, easy-to-use way for companies to offer insurance --medical, dental, disability, etc. -- to their employees. We build software that automates the tedium of managing insurance offerings and submitting enrollments. Additionally, the Insurance and Benefits team automates the administration of FSA, HSA, commuter benefits, and COBRA, allowing companies to provide more benefits to their employees with minimal overhead. Most of all, we are disrupting a 1.3 trillion dollar US insurance industry and bringing it into the digital world, and one of the core revenue generators for Rippling.
