About the role

Events and field marketing have been a critical component of our demand generation motion on our path to surpassing $1B in ARR. We’ve gotten the field marketing program at Rippling from 0-1 and now we need your help to scale it to new heights.

We are looking for a high-energy, results-driven field marketing manager to mold our current slate of events into a field marketing engine that maximizes our reach to our core HR buyer but can also be applied across our varied audiences, product markets, and segments. This is a player-coach role; you’ll lead a team of field marketers, set the strategic direction for core HR, build the operational foundations that scale across the broader team, and roll up your sleeves to execute high-impact events and field tactics yourself.

We are seeking a proven field marketer who takes full ownership — from strategy and sales alignment through execution and pipeline attribution — with the independence and drive to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment with a high-performing team.

What you will do

  • Drive both strategy and execution. Identify the existing and net new conferences, owned events and field tactics that reach HR leaders most effectively, then execute from creative brainstorming through post-event follow-up.
  • Manage the team’s calendar of events. Make fast, informed decisions about where we need to be and how to differentiate our presence to maximize impact with the audience.
  • Lead a team of field marketers including assigning events, overseeing work, problem solving alongside the team, and reviewing results to maximize the ROI and efficiency of their events.
  • Build scalable processes, templates and playbooks. Create and maintain standardized documentation that enable the entire team to operate consistently and efficiently.
  • Share learnings and performance metrics. Define the right success metrics for our programs, track performance rigorously, and communicate results and insights to leadership and cross functional partners.
  • Identify and prioritize the markets, accounts, and formats that will have the greatest impact on pipeline and deal acceleration.
  • Manage and maximize your field marketing budget. You’ll closely track expenses against plan.
  • Constantly innovate and push the envelope, moving beyond typical B2B marketing playbooks to unlock scale and ROI.

What you will need

  • 5+ years of experience in field marketing, preferably with people management experience.
  • A deep knowledge of the the HR buyer ecosystem through prior experience - you know which event formats, partners, and content drive high ROI for HR leaders and practitioners.
  • A builder’s mindset. You don’t just execute programs—you build the systems, templates, and playbooks that make the whole team more effective.
  • Salesforce and Outreach knowledge is strongly preferred for this role.
  • Ability to navigate through ambiguity. You know where we need to go, but recognize it won’t always be a straight path to get there.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Willing to roll up your sleeves. We still move at startup speed, and will expect you to roll up your sleeves and work hard to provide feedback and get the job done.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. You’ll regularly communicate directly with executives and other senior leaders.
  • Bias for speed. We move very quickly, and will expect you to set a similar pace for your team.
  • Willingness to travel 20-30% for events.
