Rippling HRIS is the "Employee Graph"—the global source of truth for employee data. As the Bangalore Site Lead, you will lead the largest hub outside of HQ, ensuring technical excellence and operational rigor across the site. Simultaneously, you will drive the product strategy for three business-critical domains:

1. Hiring, Onboarding & Global Growth

  • The Global Mandate: You are responsible for launching and scaling the HRIS and Employer of Record (EOR) experience across 100+ countries. EOR is one of Rippling’s fastest-growing, high-revenue products, and your team builds the "front door" that makes it possible.
  • The Challenge: Hiring a contractor in the Philippines is different from hiring a full-time employee in Germany. You must abstract this immense legal and logistical complexity into a seamless, automated "Fast Flow" that feels simple to the user.
  • The Experience: You will lead the development of Native Mobile Onboarding and leverage AI Agents to automate document parsing and candidate Q&A, drastically reducing time-to-hire for our customers3333.

2. Org Management (The Domain Architect)

  • The Core Data Model: You own the "Brain" of the enterprise. You define how Rippling models the real world: Business Structures (nested cost centers/locations), Skills (competencies), and Unions (bargaining units).
  • The Impact: Your architecture determines the flexibility of the entire Rippling platform. If you model a "Matrixed Organization" correctly, every downstream app—from Payroll to Identity—works perfectly

3. Accounting Channel (The 0-to-1 Bet)

  • The New Vertical: You will lead the engineering effort to launch the Accounting Channel, a massive new growth play designed to empower fractional CFOs.
  • The Product: You will build a multi-tenant command center that allows partners to manage payroll, HR, and spend across hundreds of client organizations simultaneously.

4. The Site Leadership Mandate

  • Site General: You are the senior-most engineering leader for the BLR HRIS hub (~40% of the org). You set the culture, standards, and operational rhythm for the site
  • Talent Strategy: You will close Director-level and Staff+ candidates, ensuring the Bangalore team remains a premier destination for top-tier engineering talent.
  • Bridge Builder: You will ensure high-bandwidth collaboration with US Product and Platform teams, ensuring your teams have the infrastructure support they need to execute.

What We Need From You

  • Scale & Complexity: You have managed large teams (40+) and have experience delivering software that scales globally. You understand the difference between shipping a feature for one country vs. building a framework for 100
  • Business Acumen: You understand that "Hiring" isn't just a workflow; it's a funnel. You care about conversion rates, time-to-fill, and how your product drives EOR revenue.
  • Technical Depth: You can lead architectural reviews for complex domain modeling (Org Mgmt) and high-volume transaction systems.

What You'll Do

  • You will be responsible for working collaboratively with other cross-functional teams and leaders to bring together a suite of core platform products.
  • Work cross functionally with design leadership and product management leadership to drive the vision and strategy of this organization
  • Responsible for thinking about the team from both a platform mindset as well as a product oriented mindset
  • Drive engineering initiatives like architectural changes & hiring process changes
  • Provide technical leadership and vision in a widely scoped engineering team.
  • Capable of driving development of products and platforms in a fast paced, startup environment

Qualifications

  • Experience building products and team from the ground up
  • At least 17 years of experience in software development and delivery, with in-depth knowledge of software architectures
  • At least 10 years of experience as an Engineering leader in building, managing, scaling mid to large sized development teams
  • A Bachelor’s or Master's degree in computer science, information technology, or experience in a relevant field
  • Experience building large scale software platform
  • Proficiency in recruiting, organizing, and motivating teams
  • You care about product ownership and solving problems for our customers.
  • Team development skills: ability to set a roadmap and goals for a team and every one of its members, delegate intelligently, offer engineering advice, deliver frequent and transparent feedback, work with team members to grow in their careers, and ensure everyone delivers quality results
  • Great project management skills to lead, care about product ownership, an outstanding customer-centric mindset, and solving problems for our customers.
