About the role

We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven individual to join our Payments Compliance Accounting team as an Accounting Manager. This pivotal role will focus on establishing and maintaining a robust accounting infrastructure to support Rippling’s business expansion in payment processing. You will play a key role in supporting MTL regulators' periodic compliance reporting, managing MTL exams, introducing new product offerings, and leading expansion into U.S. and global markets.

Accounting at Rippling is responsible for supporting and communicating the financial story of Rippling. We assess, track and record every penny that Rippling transacts. Our diverse team consists of professionals spread across the United States, Europe and India, with more international locations coming soon. Over the last couple years, our team has grown exponentially to support a complex, multi-product company that operates globally.

What you will do

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including obligations related to customer funds, corporate cash management, and general ledger maintenance for our payments entities.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. state and federal money transmission laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and analyze U.S. GAAP-compliant financial statements and secondary books, as required by MTL regulations.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to maintain accurate financial records and facilitate audit preparations.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to meet regulatory compliance standards.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration with legal, finance, treasury, tax, product, and R&D teams to deliver innovative and scalable solutions.
  • Drive process automation initiatives to streamline journal entries, reporting, and system integrations, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
  • Take ownership of ad-hoc requests and special projects, demonstrating adaptability and proactive problem-solving.

What you will need

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Qualified Chartered Accountant.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible accounting and finance experience, with at least 3 years in the tech industry, preferably in fintech or money transmission services.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. Money Transmission Laws and licensing requirements.
  • Detail-oriented with strong project management and organizational skills; willing to delve deep into processes and systems.
  • Exceptional people management skills, with a collaborative work style and commitment to achieving results.
  • Strong managerial, planning, organizational, decision-making, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP revenue recognition requirements.
  • Experience with NetSuite ERP and business systems data warehouse infrastructure is preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic accounting department, effectively managing multiple entities, projects, and deliverables.

The pay range for this role is:
