About the role

As a Software Engineer II on the Global Payroll team, you will design and build the next-generation rules engine that will power payroll calculations, processing over $50B+ annually. You’ll tackle one of the most complex engineering challenges in fintech - creating systems that navigate compensation structures to ensure perfect payroll accuracy. You will own and drive initiatives by architecting flexible rule evaluation frameworks from the ground up and building high-performance calculation pipelines. What you will do

  • Design and build the sophisticated payroll calculation rules engine that will handle complex payroll issues like overtime calculations, benefit deductions, and compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Compliance teams to translate complex payroll regulations into elegant, maintainable code that adapts to ever-changing global requirements
  • Drive system reliability and performance optimization, ensuring seamless operation for systems that hundreds of thousands of employees depend on for their paychecks
  • Identify and resolve technical issues, conduct system maintenance, and ensure seamless operation

What you will need

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong proficiency in Java, Python, or similar programming languages
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Proven experience in designing and developing scalable, distributed systems or SaaS platforms
  • Preferred experience in our technology stack- Python, Django, MongoDB, AWS

A variety of factors are considered when determining someone’s compensation–including a candidate’s professional background, experience, and location. Final offer amounts may vary from the amounts listed below.

The pay range for this role is:

135,000 - 236,250 USD per year (US Tier 1)
